There's not really different brands...The sand comes from the ocean and so does the rock. The only different is the origins of the different LR.

Your sand looks normal grade...Did you buy justt he regular bagged LS? A goby will do fine with that, i'd go for a gold headed sleeper, blue cheek, or a pink spotted goby...I'll get you some pics

You should get some sort of sand sifting gobie. Theyre geat for circulating the sand and when first introduced to a tank, they'll have it cleaned in a matter of hours.

I would recomend halides usually, but it varies for different tanks. Give us some specs on the tank and your plans for it.

Alright well he may not be money driven, but not educated, on Mandarins specifically. The only things they eat are pods, and unless added by the bottole, pods are only found in mature systems. Most mandarins die after 4-6 months of starvation.

Pretty kuch any. You coudl keep blue tangs, yellows, purples, achilles, poweder browna nd pwder bluel, pretty much anything. Don't overdue it thouhg. i'd say 2 tangs max unless you had 3-4 small yellows.

Careful witht eh mandarin, you don't wanna dd him unitl your tank is about 1-1.5 yrs old, unless you have good acess to live pods.
