IMO, for a nano you do not need a skimmer you don't REALLY need them until you get to about 30 gal or more A 96 watt 18" pc would allow you to have basicly anything in your tank you are willing to care for "including anemones and clams" live sand may cost more, but is well worth it live rock...

    oily film

the whole problem remains that you don't have surface adgitation, skimming helps with water quality, but that has NOTHING to do with the film on the top layer of your tank it will sit there and get thicker if not for surface adgitation i.e. powerhead or overflow of some sort.

    Mushrooms

if you are not propagating them, " which it sounds like you're not" just put something decent in size next to them for a couple weeks and they will spread over on to that "and get you credit or an item to trade with"

would a lettuce nudibranch be a good addition

I have 2 cucumber's IMO they are nothing but good, but make sure you acclimate them with the drip method as in my experience this is the best way to acclimate ANYTHING if they die in your tank it's the same story, they can do ALOT as far as contamination goes I haven't ever owned a nudi but...

would a lettuce nudibranch be a good addition

not sure about types, but most nudi's live a very short life cycle and unless purchasing them to clear a certain type of neucance in the tank that a particular species eats I would stay away from nudi's they do have the potential to contaminate your tank to a certain extent.

the main reason I said what I said is because I only have a 13-15 gallon ro top off supply tat I check or fill once a week if I had more water filtered to replenish or a bigger size tank "about 80 gal w/ sump" I would skim more wet
