Just Started My SW Tank!!! HELP ME OUT!

Nice Video. Funny that song with a couple of nemo's. Seems like it would be a good song for a couple queen triggers.

    2 sharpnose puffers?

People say lots of things are bad ideas and they turn out just fine. My LFS told me there is no way 2 dwarf angels would get along in my 150g and they have both been in over a year. If you really want it I would try it. Worse that can happen is you have to pull one out and take it back.

    New fish not eating?

What I do is shut my power heads and pumps off before I feed the fish. Kind of sounds a dinner bell. Drop some food in and stand back. They'll start to get the idea. Like Salt Nate said try some live brine from your lfs. Usually gets the ball rolling.

    Yellow Tang vs Goat Fish

Interesting. Yellow tangs are generally pretty peaceful so I don't know what set him off. Usually it is shape not color that sets fish off and a goatfish is not shaped like a tang. Maybe the goatfish said something insulting. Ha, ha Anyways if you really want to add fish I usually do it in 3's...

Just Started My SW Tank!!! HELP ME OUT!

I dug up a picture from mine from a few years back. It's not the best but may give you an idea.

Just Started My SW Tank!!! HELP ME OUT!

If you don't want to put a sump underneath the tank and easy way to do one is to put one on a desk next to the tank. All you need is a maxijet 1200, some flex tubing from home depot, a tank drilled on its side near the top, and a bulkhead for the hole and drain tubing. Basically pump the water...

    My Sad Little Tank

Maybe that is a pretty crafty hermit then. My big one would sit on a rock with his claws up and try to pinch the fish as they swam by but to no avail. Then again he could have been defending himself from my brutal and unmerciful lunar. Anyways I think a dwarf angel or a fairy wrasse would look...

in need of help with blue surgeon

I don't see anything either but if you feel it's sick I would just feed twice a day and add a sheet of seaweed selects everyday for the next two weeks. Feeding is one of the main ways to help a fish overcome an illness. Also don't mess with the tank or fish to much during this time. Let it get...

    My Sad Little Tank

Hey Hottie. I like your tank. It is different. I get tired of seeing the same old reef tanks all the time. However, I think you sent an innocent victim to the death squad. I don't think your hermit killed those critters. They probably died and he was cleaning up the carcass. I have kept all...

Just Started My SW Tank!!! HELP ME OUT!

Shy sounds like everything is going good. What's your next addition and what are you planning on keeping? Maybe I can give you some advice on the fish. I have kept just about every fish you can keep at one time or another. Don't know much about corals as I don't have alot of success with them...

    Blue Hippo And Yellow Tang?

Tangs are like cows but they are not open water fish. They are reef fish that graze on rocks all day every day. Basically when you see them in the ocean they are basically face down on a rock all day. Tuna are open water fish. As for tank size if bought small they can last in a tank like a 55...

    Snowflake eel

He is around 20" long. I bought him at around 7" but he has really grown in the year I have had him. I have to clean the glass but I will take a pic tommorrow and post it. I will try to draw him completely out of the rocks. I always turn my powerheads off to feed and he extends his body all the...

    Blue hippo tang

For your size tank geek I would definately advise turnip greens to spur growth. My Naso and blue really exploded when I started using these.

    Blue Hippo And Yellow Tang?

I think a yellow is a better choice for your size tank. Should be fine but remember to feed seaweed everyday. Not to Jack your thread but Tara how big and old is your Naso? What do you feed him?

    Salinity Problem ***

I have used the instant ocean one for 5 years and have no problems. As long as you clean it with fresh water after each use it should be ok. I also keep my water at 1.023 to give it a little plus or minus in either direction.
