    feeding corals....

Especially with the sun coral polyps the phyto will not sustain them. They need some kind of meaty food such as mysis. For the most part, lps corals that people typically feed should be fed meaty foods. They also feed of DOM (dissolved organic matter) but these are nutrients so to speak so you...

    Corals ALL DiEiNG! WATER PERFECT!

I agree that the temp. should be raised but if the tank temp is steady at 75, this would not be the cause them dying. It would MAYBE inhibit growth but not kill them. A temp. shock could cause big problems though (when acclimating maybe). I agree with the questions about copper and other tank...

    If money was no object

I'd buy myself a house here in Townsville Australia. I'd then buy a boat and spend the rest of my life diving at the greatest aquarium in the world...the great barrier reef. Oh and take some trips up to thailand...malaysia etc. Good on ya Aaron

    FEMALE carpentors flasher wrasse

Here's a link to the species at fishbase.org. http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/spec...ame=carpenteri Now, I don't see a picture of the female there but they do have a short description of what she looks like. All the other literature I see just says the female's coloration is subdued compared to...

    green hair algae

Whats your bioload? How deep and old is your sandbed? Regardless of filtration, the nutrients have to be coming from somewhere. IMO emerald crabs have done a great job in the past for me. Good on ya Aaron

    re-mineralizing RO water?

Sounds like a gimic to me. You really shouldn't worry about "re-mineralizing" the water because the salt water you do water changes with should have all the minerals needed. Keep in mind, your adding ro for evap (or salt mix...in that case salt mix has it) and when water evaps the minerals are...

    halide producing bubbles???

Its just the light penetrating farther into your sandbed than before. Its not something to worry about and will pass in time. Keep in mind that most sandbeds unless vacuumed regularly will have higher nutrient amounts than the rest of the tank. As soon as the algae living in your sandbed get...

Some GBR and Reef HQ shots

Its been a while since I've posted anything but I thought I'd share some photos. I don't have an aquarium at the moment because I'm living in Townsville Australia studying marine biology and I'll be here until July. The first couple shots I took with an underwater disposable and John Brewer...

    gorgonia possible problem

Well that might be that cause, but honestly I've never heard of a gorgonian bending to or away from anything. Like stony corals they do have a skeleton, its just made out of a little different stuff. Makes me wonder what this is. I'll do a little research and get back to you. Aaron

what gorgonians can i put in my tank

There are several gorgonians that will do well in the aquarium. All of them are photosynthetic though. Non-photosynthetic gorgonians can do well, but a heavy feeding regime (rotifers, brine nauplii, maybe cyclopeeze...depends on polyp size) would be in order and most aquarists will not keep up...
