    Can't see pods

Tank is too small?? Everything I've ever heard/read is to have a minimum 75 gallon tank and a minimum of 100lbs LR. I'm well over that.

    Can't see pods

I have a 75 gallon with about a 10 gallon sump. About 150lbs LR. 4 110watt VHO's. 3" LSB. 2 Clowns, 1 Yellow Clown Goby, 1 Kole Tang, 1 Firefish, 1 Chromis. The tank has been running for 5 years. There have been times when I've seen a fair number of pods, never the amounts that some people...

    GPH Question

I ended up getting a Quiet One 3000. The chart looks like it rates at 600 GPH at 4' and about 425 at 6'. I figure I should get somewhere around 525-575 at 4.75'. I did more research on my Oceanrunner 2500. I was probably only getting 400gph.

    GPH Question

I'm sure it isn't a big deal, but I don't like the idea of restricting the gph from the pump.

    GPH Question

The Mag 9.5 is rated at 700 gph at 6 feet. That would defeinitely be too much for a 4.75 foot head.

    GPH Question

I heard from All-Glass. The overflow in my tank is rated at 600gph. The head is about 4.75 feet. I read somewhere that the pump should run no more or less than 100 gph difference from the overflow. I think I'd prefer the pump to push more than 600 gph rather than less than 600 gph. Would...

How many head feet and what gpg overflow did you have with the Mag 7?

    Return pump

My Ocean Runner 2500 died and I need a new pump. Last year, I built a new stand and the return is about 4'9" from the pump. I don't think the Ocean Runner has been strong enough. The tank is an All Glass 75 gallon. I am considering the Mag 9.5 or the Quiet One 4000. Would these be the...

    Building canopy help

My tank is very high. I also built my stand and wanted the tank closer to eye level, so the top of the canopy is almost 6 feet. Maybe it's my obcessive nature, but I wanted a very finished product. It is more like a piece of furniture than just a functional stand and hood. BTW - I...

I don't think Murph's design is open on top. Where would the lights mount?

    Is 6500k lighting Algae magnets?

What exactly are you planning to keep in the tank? Just fish? Live rock? Corals? Trying for coraline algae growth?

    Building canopy help

I just built mine about a month ago. Flipping up the front was a thought. After some thought on how to make it both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound, I decided against it. I double hinged the top. The first 4" filps 180 degrees to lay flat when fully opened. Then the next...

    Feeding Anemone

Anything on sale? I assume it would need to be a saltwater species, not something like a freshwater trout. So any fish, shrimp, clams, squid, etc. Anything at all? Really? Not doubting you, just surprised. Are there any I should avoid? Are there certain things that have better nutrition...

    Feeding Anemone

I read a post about buying fresh seafood at the grocery store. Can I just buy regular shrimp cocktail type shrimp? Do they provide the same nutritional value as the frozen foods at pet stores? Are they better because they're fresh? What about clams, squid, etc. What specific items should I...

    Kalk Mix

My plan is to drip it without vinegar, unless I get other opinions. I thought a slow drip would eliminate the need for vinegar.

Okay...more specific pricing info. The Mrs. Wages is $24.95 for 4lbs delivered. I found a 4lb of ESV for $25.03 delivered. $.02 per pound more expensive for the ESV. Any opinions based on this new info? I am leaning towards the ESV.

That is probably more of a CYA than anything. Kent is Codex approved which means it IS food grade. Thanks for your input and opinion, but I am looking for opinions on only the three I mentioned. Thank you.

    Kalk Mix

Anything I have read on any site always says to buy only food grade for our tanks.
