I agree they are beneficial, but if you want to reduce the number of them get a coral banded shrimp. I see mine catch and eat at least 1 a week.

Could be a phosphate problem. I added a pouch to my filter that lowers the phosphates. Within days I began to see purple growing. When I took it out for about a week the growth seemed to stop almost immediately. Just a guess.

Ok I have 2 timers from Home Depot, and am tired of messing around with the clock everytime the power flickers on/off. I want to get a digital clock timer with mabey a battery backup. Anyone know if these are available at a resonable price? If so where? Any advise on these?

I have a 30g with a 135w Orbit PC and I recently got a frag of these also. Mine are at mid tank level, with a gentle flow, and they are alreadys starting to spread.

OK my tank has been up for about 5 months now. I have 5 turbo snails, a CBS, a Emrald crab, and some fish. This thing just appeared yesterday, and nothing new has been added that this thing could have hidden in. Any ideas? the top looks like the shell of a peanut.

Ok I have the beginning of a aiptasia problem. I have a coral banded shrimp and want to get some cleaner shrimp (I think thats what I need to eat these things) and was woundering would the Coral Banded kill a few of these if I added them or could they coexist?

I may have the beginning of an aiptasia problem. Has anyone used the Aiptasia X sold on this site? If not any other remedies I should know about?

Im not moving but I got a question. If you break down a tank, and then put it back together, and use all new water, it will not cause a cycle?
