    Banggai behavior

that is rediculus....if a LFS doesnt know what they are doing they go out of business. Places that are not huge chains go out of business for bad advice..period. The big chains are issues but typically small LFS are not bad. While i agree (even my store is guilty at times) some over stock...

    Lighting Suggestions for 29g

My LFS in cincy sells a really nice ESU fixture with 2 65 watt bulbs with built in cooling fans. Should cost around 175 i think off the top of my head. Try a LFS near oyu and ask for esu PC fixtures

    anenome choice

This might sound like dumb advice, but I've had really good luck with orange base LTA. The best partr about them is that they dont really move like other do. They find a comfy place usually next to a rock/glass and bury their base in the sand base. Mine havent moved in about 10 months since i...

    long nose hawkfish

I am adding a long nosed hawkfish to my reef tank on wed. I've already done preliminary research andknow fo rthe most part what I'm doing but has anyone ever had problems with them trying to eat "big" bodied fish like dwarf angels, clowns etc? Research said that they like fish like firefish...

keeping the same dwarf angels together

oh i mean the same type of dwarf...like 3 coral beauties or 3 flames...something like that. An article that i read at work had a guy breeding lemon peel angels and he put 3 babies in a 29!! they grew up and spawned regularly. Spawning would be the ultimate goal for me as well, but id rather...

    marine bettas

Sorry im assaulting the msg board this is my third one releltivly quickly....do you think that in a tank with no small crabs or shrimp a marine betta will be reef safe? My smallest fish are some medium sized true percs and i dont plan on getting the bettas til my 90 is setup and for sure...

    marine biospira

Through experiments at work we have definitely shown that fresh water bio spira (live bacteria that reproduce like mad to cycle your tank in 24 hours) works even with very sensative fish. daily tests have shown that ammonia and nitrite remain at 0 even if we intentionally over fed some. Next...

keeping the same dwarf angels together

I've done quite a bit of research on different kinds of dwarf angels and compatibility in aquariums. I've nread numerous times that if you obtain SMALL/juvenile dwarf angels you can put them into the same tank togther. Has anyone had similar experiences? The reasoning behind this is that even...

What do you feed your Rose?

I'd agree with the size issue. My LTAs didnt accept silversides until they were about 5 inches. when smaller they took shrimp and such easily. :)

    Anemone shrimp/crabs

I've read that clownfish will refuse to breed if cleaner shrimp such as skunk, fire and peppermint shrimp are in the tank. people assume that the clowns dont think that it is safe to try to reproduce when somethin will likely just eat the eggs at night. Do you think that anemone shrimp and/r...

Caribasea VS Southdown for a display

I plan on upgrading my 55 to a 90 in the near future.....if i put additional soutdown sand on the bottom and carefully transfer my sand from the 55 on top of the southdown and slowly add water will I get clouding? Also I can get aragamax for a little cheaper than southdown. Would it be better?
