Ok so i need to get some fluid... once i have the fluid how do i calibrate it? And where can i get the calibration solution?

I just recieved the TDS meter i bought of the bay, how do you calibrate it? My tap water is reading only 50

my calcium is at 500, but it was at 500 way before i started dripping lime water

I have a 55 gallon, my calcium test is in route from a BAY purchase. My ph has actually stayed were its supposed to (8.2) since iv started dripping.. Ill test my calcium now to see what its at.

My PH test only goes up to 8.6 is there a way i can check the PH of my limewater/kalkwasser? Also does anyone know what color my ph test would turn if it was way over 8.6? or does it just stay at that 8.6 color on the test kit? I want to make sure im not over dosing my tank with lime.

So instead of fraggin you recommend putting rubble rocks around the colony to spread on to?

how much flow do you have in your tank? how often do you feed your fish what kind of water do you use?

If you cant afford 1-2 pounds of live rock per gallon get a hang on back filter that will work for your size tank... dont go with a under gravel filter.. and you will definently need a protein skimmer.

Are you running any kind of filter? Did you try using a mag float on the glass? Water would be clear and just the inside of the tank wall still have sand dust on it from adding the sand.

Do a search for moving... i know there are a couple good threads about it.. 1 where a guy actually rigged up a DC power converter to run a couple power heads and a heater to put in a large plastic container for the long trip.. I myself am starting to think of a moving plan... we plan on moving...

Get a TON of nassarius snails.. They stay in your sand bed, dont eat anything good for the tank... and are fun to watch surface and dive back into the sand... they should be called submarine snails the way they dive and pop out of the sand bed. you can find 100 snail lots on the worlds largest...

I love ricordea.... a friend in a local reef club gave me white and pink one for free.... its still small but its really colorful... It split from his other 3 ricordia.

Can you frag a single zoo polyp and have it reproduce? I know they are dangerious to handle with your bare hands. I assume i would just cut the skin around the base of the polyp and super glue it to another rock? Im open to any suggestions.

Anyone know what kind of local stores could possibly carry a TDS meter? Homedepot? Lowes? Do LFS's normally carry TDS meters?
