If you are replacing water which has evaporated, you just use fresh water. A water change is when you take out some of the tank water and replace it with new (aged 24-48 hrs) salt water. I didn't do any water changes until my cycle was done....

Anyone have an opinion on a Springeri's Dottyback? Just saw one for the first time in an LFS yesterday. It was pricey ($50) but very very pretty.

So I guess it's a good thing that I'm planning to move my BBS to the 29 soon and was going to put either a peppermint or cleaner in the 10g. In your experience, are the peppermints as "friendly" as the cleaners?

I've been annoyed with Instant Ocean ever since I opened my newest box. The entire container is clumpy and is not as "dry" as my previous purchases. Plus, it doesn't dissolve very well at all. Are you now telling me this could be really bad, and not just annoying? I'm on the verge....just one...
