    fishgrl- Start a new thread for info. I would NOT go back to that LFS, because he sounds like more of a newbie than you are. Live rock is HIGHLY reccomended for a reef tank, and plants are fine...just dont pull a plant life bob and rely on them for everything. (private joke some people will get lol)

    Here is the problem... the ph of water I am using is at 7.1 or something. So I add in my instant ocean, and then use a small amount of kent superbuffer dkh to raise the ph a drop to 8.2. This is what i always have done (but never measured alkalinity...dumb!) Then once a week i dose the b-ionic...
