    Coral banded shrimp being mean???

I think my cbs is confused. He is under the assumption that he is actually a cleaner shrimp. I had a small outbreak of ich a few months ago, and he actually picked off the yellow tang and clown fish! I do spot feed him when i spot feed my brittles and orange linkia, so he may be spoiled now and...

    New lighting need help

Ok, thank you so much reefernuts! I appreciate you taking the time. And reeferman, I was thinking a metal screen too, but was afraid of how the metal may interact with any salt creep, or if the metal would somehow get into the water at all and foul it? I was going to use some kind of eggcrate...

Hello! I am picking up my first metal halide today. Bought a 250 watt, 10k bulb, pendant light. I will be suspending it from my ceiling. Now, do I need to add any other lighting? I apologize if this is an old post, but want to respond to Stewart since he took the time to write...my internet at work has been down for 3 days...long story Anyhoo, everything looks better now. I did move the polyps over into a flow more as well as the zoos, and I think they needed time to...

star polyps and zoos look like crap

The LFS had the same lighting as me...pc's and my inhabitants have been in my tanks for around 4-5 months now with no problems. I asked both stores the lighting requirements and saw what they had. I will try moving them as a change. Could a lack of iodine be a cause? I just started this weekend...

Fish are fine, water is perfect, corals are wilting. Can you guess the problem?

Ok...tested my water and had 14 stray volts running through the tank! So I went to my LFS, and they did have a ground pole. Easy to hook up, and tested again...0 stray volts. I'm glad I got it, but it didn't help my problem, which is my polyps look like crapola. THought stray voltage may be the...

    Sponge Invasion!!!

Do not get a nudibranch as once the sponges are eaten up, it will die. This is a creature best left in it's natural environment. Also, when it dies, it poisons the tank. I never had personal experience with one, but have read many many posts on this. other than that, I can't add anything to...

Fish are fine, water is perfect, corals are wilting. Can you guess the problem?

ok, again, sorry for the q.... When you guys say ground, is that normally the screw that would hold the plate (cover for the plug) into the wall. You know, the screw in the middle of the plate. Or is it different on a gfci. When my electrician came to finish my downstairs, I had him install the...

hey 57...love the pun about being "shocked"..lol I will end up putting a grounding probe in anyway at this point, being that I have now read posts on this and 3 other boards regarding this subject. I almost wish I didnt spend the 30 bucks on the voltmeter, but in any event, I'd still like to...
