For what it's worth, people tell you that they destroy good bacteria, and they probably do. However, when adding to an established tank the good bacteria will be in abundance. UV's won't kill your good bacteria faster than it can regenerate. I bought mine when I had an ich outbreak...nothing...

I had to make a cutout on the back where the pump cord pokes comes out from behind the canopy. It was almost cutting into the cord whenever I opened it. Plus, I had no place for a heater cord. I cut that out as well.

Packaging was not great on mine either...I got the 12er. However, it is up and running and I am happy with it at this point in time...after I made some cutouts on the back to put in a heater! :mad:

Well I got mine too. I dunno, not completely what I was expecting I guess. Although very small and easily fixable, one of the braces that holds the hood in the "open" position snapped right off when I was opening it. It looked to me that the "pin head" worth of glue just wasn't enough to hold...
