I was told that if cucumbers die they give off toxic substances. Is this true? I ordered one but it came dead. I though just as well and didn't replace it. Luckly it didn't die in my tank. I have snails (turbo and margareta, star fish, blue crabs and serpentine star). They do a wonderful job!

I have a big rubbermaid container that I mix up the saltwater so it could age. I was having problems with Amonia in that. Installing a RO cleared up the Amonia problem. It did not reduce the cloramine.
