I have a 150 gal fowlr with the ecosystem 200 (400 gal per hour over bioballs),2 inches of sand (not live) only six relatively small fish and 3 anemones ...running since oct 2001...nitrates have spiked up to 30ppm..will the additon of a protein skimmer or some other additional filtration help...

I have had one for 5 months and is one of my favorites...my tank has been at 77 degress. he has grown considerably and is beautiful.he sits about 2 inches from my carpet anemone and then darts out to capure his food.hides at night in his private crevice in the rocks.. regards

Beautiful...you indicated set up just a few weeks ago!sure do have a lot of critters for such a short time...It took me 2 months just to cycle my 150..what is your secret as everything looks very healthy. Regards

Can anyone give an opinion on engineer gobies are they good in a community tank..?LFS had some and their resemblence to eels makes them quite attractive..The ones shown in our hosts catalog do not give these fish justice.They looks so much like eels they should be called Eel Gobies. rgds

I beieve the HLLE is due to poor nutrition and water condition...The copper dose weakens and you may want to check its diet. Good Luck!

on Wed. I received 1 carpet and 1 yellow sebae anemone,1 blue starfish, 5 paint brushes...all in beautiful shape... If allowed,Suggest you have them delivered to your work address,which I did to asssure receipt. rgds

maybe the sharks will jump in, but isn't the question how much copper resides and what is it potency?If u get a copper test kit and check the levels (parts per million) maybe some of the experts could comment if your levels are threatening. good luck and regards

Currently have 1 long tenacled anemone in my 150fowlr,thinking of adding 1 carpet and 1 yellow sebae along with a bluestarfish. Any problems with mixing types? rgds

Don't give up on them yet!! Although I am also considering myself as a "newbe" since setting up a 150 fowl in Oct 2001..more than 20 years ago,using only undergravel filers,had success starting tanks with damsels and they lived thru it and lasted for years. I started my new 150 with 2 blue...

It looks like intact legs which the fish could not or would not be able to bite or swallow as I would assume the legs are hard shelled. rgds

I have about 10 lbs of LR in my 29 gal Quarantine tank where I just treated for ick with a copper/formalin additive.I will gradually replace the water to reduce copper levels and want to know if the copper has "killed" the live rock. Can it be rinsed and returned to my 150 gal tank with 80 lbs...
