Just started my tank on Sat. 80 gal 100lbs LR 110lbs LS. My Amonia is staying at .5, PH 7.8, trates are saying 20-100 range, trites .5, and my alk is 'High' according to my Red Sea Marine Lab. Is Alk suppose to get high as well during the cycle?

The LS has been in the tank for about 4 hours now and I see a lot of 'Little things' moving around the surface of the sand. Pods??? Tank is starting to settle from the sand storm so hopefully tomorrow I can arrange the LR better.

Ok, the cc is now gone. I am picking up 110lbs of LS in the morning along with my FIJI LR. My wife was furious to see me remove all that cc. She said it was a waste of time. I hope that following all the advice here will pay off and the misses will see how awsome it will turn out Thanks guys

We have a pier here in San Diego that has a filtered pump that pumps form the ocean. Its all free. Just drive right up to the pump and fill up. All the LFS around here use it and they its great. Just dont fill up after it rains.
