ya the bio wheel side i guess you could take the bio wheel out but if you use the seaclone you wont have to theres just enough room i think people have put backpack skimmers on our hood to but im not sure but there a much better skimmer

it was late when i posted i didnt read your last post right i ment the back right side not where the water pump is at least my power cords are with the water pump mine is on the other side if thats makes since if not let me know

i think every one need a skimmer im sure someone will disagree but i have the same hood on my 20 long i had to cut the hood in the back right corner so i could fit a seaclone in there i think some people have used backpack skimmers from cpr ether way i think skimmers are a good idea

no i dont have one yet:( but one day from what i have seen hsa skimmers out preform all other skimmers but i dont have any proof here is a diy dule becket skimmer that im going to try to build once i get my new sump http://www.bluechunks.net/reef/skimmer2/

do you know what the models are the wet/drys range from $139-289 and the skimmers $89-229 so it depends on wich models

thats it you can do some mod's to the skimmer to make it work better but that should work on that small of a tank

i think i already answered your question in another post but if not there ok for the price i like mine but im going to get a berlin sump for my reef and use the sealife systems on my soon to be fowlr tank if you have any question let me know

could be a type of sponge can you discribe it alittle better

no i dont think there junk there priced right and they have a lifetime warranty i wish i had a bigger one the skimmer takes up all the room i would recomend them

aqua c but i wish they were cheaper

i have a sealife system wet/dry " model 100" it's ok i wish the area for the skimmer was alittle biger but other than that there ok never used the skimmer but im going to get one next month for a new tank there not the best out there but for the price there not bad

what kind of lighting do you have and i would move the condis they move around the tank and sting anything they touch i got rid of mine

i had the same problem with my 20 long i had an eclipse 3 hood i had to cut the hood on the right side in the back and put a seaclone skimmer it's not bad didnt really hurt the hood any

i have a sealife system wet/dry i took all the bio balls out and just used it for a sump so i had a place to put my skimmer never use an undergravel filter more problems than its worth i also had a fluval 304 it worked ok it's on my fo tank now what kind of tank are you setting up

any ideas on why mushrooms would start melting away it's going through the whole bunch there in a 20 gallon aquarium 60 lbs lr 40 lb ls 50/50 pc water tests out right ph was alittle low after adding kent liquid reactor went down around 8.0 thats about all the info i have it's not my tank...

that sucks i get a few every 2 weeks just to dump them in the tank and watch him hunt them down get some krill and the feeding stick and try that goldfish arent good for them from what i hear but once or twice wont hurt it

if he is just not eating for you you could get some fresh water ghost shrimp and feed him them live and sneek frozen krill with a feeding stick

i feed my banded morray frozen krill it wont touch silversides just make sure you buy the small bags of frozen food untill you find what he likes i listend to my lfs and they said to feed him the siversides so i got a big bag and the eel wont touch them but at least the stone fish loves them

i run carbon 24/7 on my reef i use 1/2 lb in a micron bag and change it once a month
