No it doesnt. U tube type overflows dont use the aquafilter. They typically arent needed from what i have read prior to purchasing. That is why the consensus that i found on various forums was to avoid those types of overflows as you are inherently relying on a pump which can easily burn out...

Hey Al, Yep the 2nd baffle will be added shortly. I needed to test the seals in case they weren't completely sealed. If not then i could add more silicone before i more or less sealed in the 1st baffle by putting the 2nd one in so close to the 1st one. I however wish i had made the bubble...

Already got the bubble tower cut out and siliconed in. I accidentally ended up with a 10" high bubble tower instead of the 10.5". I also ended up cutting the 1st baffle separate from the bubble tower. I have the refugium baffle in place and the tower and will have the 1st and 2nd in by this...

I just got done cutting a couple of the baffles and i dont see any foreseeable way to cut part of it at one height and the other at a different height. The glass is so brittle that i doubt i could get a clean break at two height levels. So i will just have to make two pieces. Not a big deal...

I see what you mean, where having it 10+" high would almost leave no chance for the water to flow anywhere but out the bottom, then the skimmer section fills and pours over the 9.5" 1st baffle, right? I just need to put out my thoughts once more so i can get it straight in my head. So please...

If anything i think the bubble trap would need to be lower than the 1st baffle to prevent overflow into middle section. That is of course if they are butted up against each other. Since it is higher and the in case all the flow doesnt escape the one eggcrate side of the trap it will be forced...
