When you say you cycled the tank, what exactly does that mean? Does cured live rock need to be cycled? I am trying to understand this before I go off and start my tank.

How exactly do you culture your rock? Do you buy some LR and place it with the aragocrete? If so, will it look different from the aragocrete? What about the garf grunge? What does it look like?

bas12547- If I were you, I would reconsider a canister unit. I would spend the money instead on Live Rock. The Live Rock will do the filtering that you are wanting the canister to do. This way you let your aquarium filter itself and let the aquarium be as natural as it can, the way God designed...

The water may touch it at times, but it won't be in constant contact. The paint is only on the lip that the glass top fits on. I went to the website and it says once the paint is dry, it is nontoxic. I hope it is okay.

I have just bought a 30L used tank. It came with a Penguin BioWheel. My thought is just to use LR, DSB and a skimmer for filtration. Would it help to use this biowheel? My initial thought is to not use it. Comments?
