    i mean how do you do it maintainace, how often do you do water changes, how mush live rock, how mush live sand etc. also how long have you been doing it for. i will like to trow away my filters and skimmer.

    is there any one out there that runs a reef tank with out mechanical filters and skimmer. i was reading a book aquarium corals by erik h borneman and in the last page it says that he runs a 500g reef tank with out any mechanical filtration. how he does it would be good to know.

    72g two 175mh 10k and 2 40w atinics and 1 40w daylight. 10g one 32w smartlamp and will be adding one 13w smartlamp.

    i use both of them, but i only have soft corals i'm tinking about getting that marine snow from two little fishies it says that it has phytoplankton, zooplankton and dissolved organic matter for soft and stony coral.

    i notice in a few tanks of my lfs that they keep a few large aptasias, they are about one inch and a half to two inches long. this is not on one lfs is like in five of them but never bother asking them. now is there any benefits as to keeping any large pieces in the tank. i seen a guy that works...

    yes it will hurt you fish if you add any other treatment when doing hyposalinity, you are already streasing the fish with a lower salinity.

    jack you are right those are yellyfish, i took pictures at the shedd aquarium today. if any one has any better ideas on how i can post pics here for everyone to see let me know. i tried a couple of different tink and seem to fail.

    if it is sheding a surface layer of dead wazy tissue is getting rid of algae and waster. if it is sheding there is notting wrong with it, it will reexpand after the sheding. stronger curents in the aquarium will help limit the frequency of this process. why do you think is dying
