    Adjusting SG.

Just a suggestion, but I would just add salt water in my top offs instead of fresh water until you get it where you want.

Help!! Gonna be in over my head very quickly :)

I was planning on making a sump/fuge out of my 55. The only problem is the lady selling it to me told me that the sump as to be put under the stand through the top before the main tank is put on, I don't know if I'd want to drain it to get the 55 under the tank when it was ready. But that's a...

Help!! Gonna be in over my head very quickly :)

I think it's just mature, these are pictures sent to me, I'm going to go pay for it and pick it up on Saturday, I saw some polyps in one pic, but that was all I can make out from the pics. I know it's crazy to commit site unseen, but I don't see how this can not be a good deal, and was afraid it...

I just edited my previous post asking about the fuge, didn't know if you saw that since you already responded. And thanks for the quick responses, I'm excited, but nervous too.

Help!! Gonna be in over my head very quickly :)

It's actually a private person, it's been up and running for 7 years, she's giving me everything she has, so I'm guessing any food etc will be included. I will post a pic tonight, I have no way of reducing the size here at work. So, you don't think I should worry about a fuge, go ahead and run...

Help!! Gonna be in over my head very quickly :)

1,000 for all of it, oak stand, canopy 300+ lbs live rock 4 vho lights, 2 175 watt halides, uv sterilizer, protein skimmer, and co2 unit. Misc corals and a few fish. Not sure the specifics of the skimmer, etc. but it's up and running now, and I figured the live rock is worth about what I paid...

Help!! Gonna be in over my head very quickly :)

Well I guess I impulse bought today. I commited to purchasing a 180 gal tank w/ 40 gal sump. I currently have a 55 FOWLR with a cannister filter. I wasn't planning on upgrading this much this quickly, but it was a deal I couldn't refuse. Now for some questions: Will a sump by itself suffice...

    Is this a good deal?

I've been looking for a 125 gal rr tank, and ran across this. It seems like a great deal, but would like some opinions: All glass aquarium with oak stand and canopy is still functioning with 300+ lbs. of live rock a few corals and fish left. It has 4vho lights and 2 175 watt halides. It comes...

Hydor FLO work with maxi-jet powerhead?

I have one on a Maxijet, it will work fine, but it does cut down the flow. I used to have two and removed one from one of my powerheads so that flow was increased. It does do a good job of allowing flow to all parts of my tank however. It's up to you, but I would possibly recommend adding one...

    Bioload Question

That is what my thought process is, it seems like they are a good rule of thumb, but if you had all the fish free swimmers in the lower part of the tank, you would be able to have less fish. I may be wrong, but it seems like you could stock more fish by planning the types of fish. It doesn't...

    Bioload Question

Hi, I'm really not planning on currently adding any other fish to my 55gal FOWLR tank, but I do have a question regarding stocking. I've read about only adding 1" of fish per 5 gal. and other ratios. I was just wondering if the types of fish make a difference. I have the following fish in my...

    Top Crown Snail

I have 3 banded trocus, 10 nassarius, 10 cerith. At least that's what I've put in, I have no idea if all the nassarius and cerith are still in there or if my hermits have taken a few. Thanks
