    lighting for anemones

Maybe there was a 0 missing and it was really a 200 watt light on a smaller system? Even then I can't see it being an actual carpet.

    75gallon AGA

I actually wanted bigger holes, but my LFS could only do holes big enough for a 1" bulkhead. All in all I think it was a great deal though and am very excited about all the options I will have. I know for sure one of the 75's will be a low flow predatorless refugium with a ton of live rock...

    75gallon AGA

Yeah, I actually bought 3 and had them drilled on the sides so I could hook them up in a long chain in the basement for a sump/refugium/evil fish quarantine area. It will add 225 gallons to my system and in 3 compartments for way cheaper than a tank that size. I am just hoping 2 holes for 1"...

    44 gal fowlr suggestions?

If you have a deeper sand bed and a covered tank, how about a jawfish? They are so wierd and comical. Definitely need peaceful fish with them and a covered tank though.

    Aiptasia Anemone/Trifid Anemone

Yeah, a copperband butterflyfish. I personally would go with the peppermints unless you have something that will eat them. I had probably 5 large aiptasia and countless little ones all over my 55 gallon and then I got 5 peppermint shrimp to take care of them. About a month later there was...

how do these fish sound for my 24 cube

A little off topic, but where can you get egg crate from anway? I am trying to setup a 75 that is going to just be jawfish and banghai cardinals and I want to make sure the jawfish stay in the tank. They seem to have a real problem with that.

    lighting for anemones

It is probably not really a carpet, maybe a Ricordia? Don't know of many things that could survive on 1 watt per gallon.

    worst weekend ever

I feel your pain, I lost almost my whole system to that power outage in August of '03 that hit half the country. It wasn't nearly as long of an outage, but I was out of town that weekend. The day I came back was one of the worst days of my life, which I guess means I am way to into this hobby.

    What am I doing wrong?

I agree with the green chromis theory. They are just as cheap and hardy, yet not evil. I also had a three spotted damsel when cycling and it was just as evil if not more so than the blue ones. I actually refer to them as the blue b@sta@rds to this day. I will never forgive them for what they...

    What am I doing wrong?

A lot of pet stores that carry a limited amount of saltwater species do not have knowledgable employees. They have the pretty and cheap blue damsels that they try to sell to after having your tank setup for only a few days. I actually would not recomend using them to cycle your tank if you are...

    75gallon AGA

My LFS here in the Lansing MI area has 75 AGA's for $99, but they have a tempered glass bottom that can't be drilled. The sides can still be drilled though and I just purchased 3 that are drilled in the sides to be hooked together and share the same water. I am going to use them as an...

    55 AGG. and 10 Reef F/S

Do you have pics of the 55 setup? I may be interested, I live just outside of Lansing and am always interested in new tanks. Although not sure if I can really afford it at this time.

    Tips for moving my 75g

I agree, you have to empty the contents of the tank, or at least most of it. Rubbermaid containers are cheap and you can use them later to store top off water or mixed saltwater for water changes. Or just for storage of your xmas decorations or something. Good luck, I just moved my 55 from an...

    Bristle worm BIG problem

As posted before more than 99% of bristleworms are harmless and in fact are actually beneficial. Also most do not attain a lenght of 2 feet. That thing must have been grossly overfed by the previous owners of the LR. I had an outbreak of bristleworms in my 55 about a year ago after I had...
