IMO. the larger tanks are easier for the beginner because they tend to be more forgiving. You still need to stay on top of things, but not like the nano tanks.

reduce feedings and photoperiod will help with the cyano. as waterfaller1 said, there are some excellent articles on getting rid of the dreaded red slime.....

I would agree if it were days, but we are talking weeks here. Just doesn't seem possible.
