I agree with jwtrojan44, I wouldn't do a water change yet. You will prolong your cycle.

Did the lr come from lfs or from online? If from lfs, probably not much die-off (if only out of water for an hour or so). May take longer than you want to cycle. I would add a piece of shrimp to speed up the cycle.

I use the emperor 400 on my 75 and have no complaints. You can find it on line for about 1/2 of what it will cost at the lfs.

Yes it is normal and it can take a few days to clear up. What kind of sand did you use?

I would find out what the price of the tank is withOUT the hood. Chances are good that you will want better lighting anyway.
