    Is this a good deal??

Yes, I will be able to go look at it. Actually the guy posted it on Craigslist, and also on a local aquairum club forum. According to his post, he had a major leak, and lost 150gal of water on the floor. He said after that, he was done with the hobby for a while....and as for the link, it was...

    Is this a good deal??

Hello- We're needing a skimmer for a 90gal reef, with 50 gal sump, but can't afford to drop 300.00 for the one we want right now. Anybody have any thought on this one...? We can pick it up used from a guy on Craigslist for 125.00. It's the -200 model he is selling. Thanks-...

    Fish Compatibility

We've been researching the right fish for our tank. Here's our wishlist. We know that we will not be able to have all of the fish on the list, but what does everyone think of the choices? Here's tank specs: 90 gal 80 # LS 100 # LR Small frag Xenia 3 small Zoas 4-5" Sailfin Tang 4-5" Maroon...

How do you react at a LFS?

We're new into the hobby, and fortunately we knew the more research you do before stepping foot in the lfs the better! I understand that in my area this is a very niche business and since we don't have any saltwater bodies around it can be hard to gain the knowledge. There are a couple of stores...

    I've re fallin in love....

That's awesome! We just replaced our old 4 bulb Current with a 48" 6 bulb Nova Pro for $365.00 to our door from Drs S & F. Only disappointment for us was that it doesn't have lunar lights. Other than that, absolutely love it! Amazing the difference it can make. Your tank looks great!

I like it too. The onlne store is much more user friendly and quicker to navigate.

    Help Identifying?

Here's another picture if it helps... They are about the size of a pea and look kinda fuzzy. Some are a dark gray color and some are white to off white.

    Help Identifying?

Can anyone tell me what these little growths are on my LR? Also we have what appears to be a white sponge growing on a couple as well (or as my fiance says "it looks like a hocker")... Any ideas? Are these good/bad/indifferent?

    New 90gal

Here in a few weeks when everything settles and we recover financially from Christmas, we'll be adding corals and probably some more fish. I'm really debating on the fish though.. I've heard you don't want to get too many Tangs, but I want to add at least two more (blue hippo and yellow). We'll...

    New 90gal

We bought the entire set up used. The only upgrade we've made so far is the lighting. We just purchased a Current Nova Pro 6 bulb T5HO fixture. The tank had been set up for a little over a year at the previous owner's house. We moved it to our house on New Years Eve. We had everything up and...

    New 90gal

Unfortunately, those scratches are on the fish. I took that picture the 2nd day after it was set up (01/01/10), he probably got them from being netted or from the move... Here's an updated pic of him - looking much better! It's a little out of focus, but as you can see, the scratches are gone...

    New 90gal

Here are some pics of our new to us 90 gallon all set up. We haven't made any changes to anything yet, but we do have a new light fixture coming in today. Once it's up and running, I'll post an after picture. Please let me know if there is anything that anyone sees that raises a red flag...

    Too Much Flow??

Is it possible to have too powerful of Powerheads? We have a 90 gal tank with 2 bulky M1500 Seio powerheads (see pic below). They are moving the top layer of sand and the fish seem to be having a hard time maneuvering around in the tank due to the high current. I may be wrong, but I can't figure...

    Fish????

Wow, I didn't realize sweetlips were so hard to keep, nor that they got that big. I guess we'll cross that one off our list. The tank is 90 gallons. Not sure on the age of the fish, we purchased the tank used, and it came with the fish.

    Fish????

We are ready to start looking at fish for our new aquarium. We currently have a Sailfin Tang, Tomato Clown, Maroon Clown, and Dragon Goby. This is a reef tank and we are wanting a very peaceful tank. What shrimp are best, if any? We would definitely like to add a Blue Tang, some Harlequin...

    lighting

From what we've been reading, the T5s are really probably better for our situation and needs. I know that many are devoted to halides, but we like less maintenance with the T5s. The bulbs don't have to be replaced for 12 months, so that's always a plus.
