I have about 6 different species of snails in my tank and their shells grow with the snails, the new growth is very obvious. Predator, can you give more info on exactly what snails ditch their shells and grow...

    Cleaner shrimp problem

Not really a problem, try and feed the shrimp first, allow it to get it's fill. It should be fine then, I have 2, a skunk and a blood, as long as I feed them first then there is no problem. HTH

    Need info on condy anenome

WOW too bad you are not near me, I have a medium sized one I would love to give away! It has stayed exactly where I put in the tank and it has a purple color to it. They are very easy to care for IMHO, I don't feed it directly, it captures whatever floats by when I feed the fish. My clowns...

12000k MH lighting, all I need?

YEP, I had 'em, never again. They shift, much too quickly and don't provide enough light. Go for the 10,000k they provide a nice white light without actinic supps! HTH [ October 25, 2001: Message edited by: Green Mariner ]

What do you mean lose limbs? Frogspawn have polyps attached to calcium skeletons, is it losing it's polyps, exposing it's skeleton? or is it losing little minitures of itself? if it is the latter then it is producing babies, if it is losing polyps then that is a very bad thing. HTH

    pulsing Xenia

It is not uncommon for a fish to swim through the xenia and clip off some polyps with their fins. BTW, Where ever the polyps land you will wind up with more xenia, personally I think of xenia the same way I think of aptasia, a pest. HTH

    identification please.snail?

It is IMO a stometella varia, these are common hitchhikers on indo pacific rock. The shell looks more like a cap, the snail cannot completely retract into this shell, they also reproduce like rabbits. They are nocturnal as well, so if you wait a few hours after your lights go out you are likely...

    Sump questions??

With a MAG pump it should not. The MAG is not a very strong pump, depending on head pressure No, PH don't have enough head pressure to get the return back up to the tank. HTH [ August 17, 2001: Message edited by: Green Mariner ]

Water Changes... Will Corals Dry Out?

WOW 10-12 hrs. don't try this @ home kiddies!! :D :D If this is the case you should be OK, but personally I try to keep my corals submerged at all times, IMHO it is un-needed stress. Unless of course, its fraggin' time!!

Water Changes... Will Corals Dry Out?

No you should not expose them to air for any amount of time! You should be doing your water changes from the sump. If you cannot do it this way you need to find another way to do the water changes. Sorry to be the barer of bad news but it seems you don't have many options. HTH

Shrimp and the new Christmas Rock...help!!!

Misty, shrimp are opportunistic feeders, you could try keeping it well fed, if that doesn't work you will have to make a choice between the shrimp or the rock! HTH
