not sea squirts from anything ive looked up they are not sponges either that first pic shows the open part of the "skin" around the edge of the shell. they really remind me of scallops but i cant find anything on them. any other takers on the things

more than likely they are, kinda sounds like it. they will reproduce alot if you dont have any kind of fish that will eat them.

on a piece of my lr i flipped it over and it looks like there are clams on it, they are small and open up but if i put the net beside them or touch them they close up, they almost look like they have a skin net of some sort while opened and there are a few small holes in that net i am attaching...

i use tap and have had my set up for going on 3 yrs

i find that i have a pod factory in my filter when ever i change my sponge and carbon, they are always crawling all over the sponge. its a good sign i think :)

i have crushed coral substrate and if you look closely to the bottom right hand side of this picture that i am attaching you can see an adult pod

they are not live adult shrimp. they are probably some sort of pods. sound like amphipods or copepods.
