Will an anemone kill my conch?

just found this thread... forgetting that i even posted it 5 years ago. The conch did great for 3 years in my 30 gallon and is still doing great in my 90! Only remaining original member of my livestock when i got into the hobby!

    Why is my Maroon digging?

mine does the same thing, ill see it fanning away sand with its tail like crazy until theres a 3-4 inch pile of sand against my front glass, i'll also see it carrying a mouthful of sand to the other side of the tank and spitting it out. Not much else to do in a tank i guess lol

    Uh-oh !!!

I just ordered two K-3's myself THIS MORNING for my 4' tank, after reading several threads about which size should go with which tank... Can your problem be corrected by aiming them elsewhere or is that too much flow for that size tank?

    2" styrofoam under tank?

Thanks Mike, I'll just buy a new sheet of 1/4". Does anybody know of any reasons NOT to use styrofoam? Could it possibly dissolve from getting wet over time and CREATE an impurity under the tank that could cause a leak or crack?

    2" styrofoam under tank?

So i'm moving my reef over to my new 90 Gallon GLASS tank. I'm using a wooden stand and from what i've gathered here using styrofoam under the tank is a good idea to compensate for imperfections in the wood and/or possible warping. I have the blue 2" thick stuff already from recent construction...

    Borrowed a dig. cam!!

I've had the urchin for almost 3 months now. It is a pain in the butt sometimes, it will knock over corals, move small rocks, carry snails around, carry my thermometer around lol. I also believe it ate half of one of my heads of frogspawn (which recovered by the way) Its not enough of a problem...

    Borrowed a dig. cam!!

I have found it works best when the intake is about 1 inch below the surface of the water, so thats how i run it. I did remove the sponge also. Adding a wood airstone provides a much finer supply of bubbles allowing more contact time with the water and a more efficient skimmer. The other end of...

    Borrowed a dig. cam!!

It comes with a cheesy plastic air valve at the end of the airhose that goes into the powerhead. I popped it off and put a brass valve on instead for better control. The intake tube i shortened is the U-tube going from the powerhead over the tank to the bottom of the skimmer, i cut it so the...

    Borrowed a dig. cam!!

Skimmer is a seaclone 100 (despite all the negative press it works fine on my tank) I have replaced the air valve with a brass one and shortened the intake tube and added an airstone so it works quite well. I do have an emperor 400 running full time with carbon and for circulation. :jumping:

    Borrowed a dig. cam!!

Thanks cowfish, i was playing with macro mode as you can see the tail is in focus but the head is not, not much room for error eh lol. Honestly the 2 pieces i added tonite add a lot to the tank i wish i could take some more pics.
