I had a huge issue with Green Hair Algae.
I started by reducing the main tank hours. Didnt help much.
I had been scrubbing the rock in the tank, but that was the worst idea...every spec of the algae that is scrubbed off the rock will settle somewhere and grow there.

I've heard it is quite an aggressive trigger.
Triggers will hide and are quite shy at first.
I would suggest trying to vary the diet as much as possible.

You do know that triggers eat all the things you mention that you have on order such as crabs and snails right? Puffers do too. You may get away with it for a short time but once they get a taste of any of those yummy crabs...
