I used meracyn get rid of pop-eye in my butterfly. It seemed to work pretty quickly. You might try that. Its best to have a qt, but you can get away with treating the tank.

the brown algae on your sand may be a result of high phosphates. If what you have is the same thing I had, that was my problem, phospates. I used phos-lock to get rid of it. worked in about a week. Now its more of a maintenance problem than anything.

Would adding all four be too much for a 90gal?

I was told that the purple sea slug eats worms not algea, but my lfs told me that so they could be wrong.
