    the light you have described should be just fine, it all depends on what corals you want to keep. Also to help with the algae you can shorten the time the lights are on by an hour or so a day.

    The orange shoulder is 8-10 inches, i ordered him from this site, May 18th last year, so alomost a year and 1/2. ProbaBLY about 3 inches when i got him.

    they are aimed right above the rocks, not directly on the corals.

    sounds like a metal halide fixture with power compacts or t-5 as acintic bulbs. Face koralias to get as much flow as possible to all areas of the tank. You may notice an area is not getting flow from algae growth, but put them on the back to see how it works and change them if needed.

    yep thats the place, its 1/2 from me, i go there alot. I would suggest getting some turbo snails, they do a great job with algae. Ohh what kinda lights are you getting??

    anyone ever get corals from pacific east aquaculter

    I ordered from them in july, got the 12 pack they offer, great corals, small frags though. Got some nice sps, and a few nice brain corals.

    i feed hikari bio pure, and prime reef flakes, also nori for the tangs. Ive never had the patience to grow brine shrimp soo ive never tried to make my own food.

    i use hikari bio-pure, my fish are fat, healthy and colorful.

    thats gonna happen with the sand, yes its algae, those bugs are good, check the hitchhikers thread for more info might be rotifers.

    if you can go ahead, theres all kinda stuff on the rocks for a clean-up crew, and algae grows really fast in a new tank.
