Looks good and it looks like you thought things through. One thing you might consider, you could switch the skimmer and return pump (w/ overflow drain) around. This would allow your refug water to return to the tank without having some go through the skimmer.

Customer Service from All Glass emailed me back to say that the 10G glass is to thin and it will crack if drilled.

I've looked on All-Glass and the bottom of their 10G isn't tempered, would the back be for any reason. I would like to make a mini-reef tied into a larger system. I'm wondering if I could just drill a hole in the back for an overflow to tie it together.

Can a 10G glass tank be drilled or is it all tempered glass?

Some people don't use skimmers and some people like to over skim, it also depends on your bio load. If you do regular water changes and don't overfeed or overload that should be fine. If you don't ever do water changes or you overfeed or overstock then this skimmer won't help much.

You might want to look at some circulation, a sump with return pump or powerheads. If your like me you also should consider adding an auto-top off system to replace evaporation. Do a search on DIY ones, it can be done cheap. While your still in the early stages you should consider adding more...
