    Need Help with Elegance

Thanks for your help ; I feed him everyday and doesn't refuse, if he lives he's gonna be a fat elegance. I do have current on it ; not too much not too slow. And instead of dipping it in iodine I just blow the stuff around him. I dont want to take him out of the water and give a dip. This can be...

    Need Help with Elegance

I can see the sceleton :( But there is no brown jelly or any of that stuff. I'll keep feeding and we'll see. That is sad, really sad. It's one of my favorite coral. I think I'm gonna sue "Azoo" for making such poor quality suckers. They just don't hold the powerhead on the glass. <img...

    Need Help with Elegance

I need help ; Last week one of my powerheads slipped from the glass and caught a very small part of my elegant coral. There was prefilter on the powerhead so its not chopped. It closed that part for a few days and now started to die. The other parts are ok but I'm afraid it'll slowly die. Is...

    Sea Urchin

I have a question about the urchins ; do they eat encrusted algea (coralline and others)? Because my friend has three and his coralline is going away. The rocks seem strange, like somebody biting them !!!! Any ideas

    HOw do I acclimate shrimp

I agree with Mr.Tang, 25% is too much at a time. The best way for me to use the drip method, just like for kalkwasser. I put the fish/shrimp/coral in a small bucket and take water with an air hose. Adjust the flow and wait, always works for me

Best size tank for a reef setup?

Small reef means hard work. I have 2 reef aquariums, 220 g and a 10 g. Believe me its much easier with the big one. Nano is always needs something. If you turn your back for a very short time, things can chance very fast. You have to check S.G. like everyday, test 2 or 3 times a week, water...

Maxi-jets are great, they dont make noise when they turn on. If you are using (or will be) a wavemaker then the maxi-jets are for you.

    Yellow Polyps ?

Ok ; other factors that can affect them ; 1) Did you changed the powerhead positions or their timers ? 2) Did you feed them with something different ? 3) Did you move the rock to another spot ? 4) Did you changed your lights ? 5) Did you make a water change before they closed ? These are the...

    get anomonies off the rock

I always think the best way to get rid of aiptasia is the natural way. Like the peppermint shrimps or the nudibranch called berghia v. Because when you inject calk or hot water in them you will be doing this to the ones that you see. They will grow under the rocks like a ticking bomb. Later you...

    Sohal VS Purple Tang..

The purple can give you some trouble. My friend bought a sohal for his tank which has a large purple in it and he put the sohal in an acriylic tank (kind of big rearing tank) and put it in the water for an hour. At first the purple gone mad, showing his blades and swimming around the tank...

    your opinions please

I use Fast Test from Aquarium Systems. And for pumps : Main pump EHEIM 1060, great great great. Powerheads are Aquarium Systems Maxi Jets. I got five of them on a wavemaker, and minimum sound when turning on. I tried others but they made noises when turning on.

    What can I add?

I'm sorry but I think you need to take it slow. You say it's one month old. Give it time to settle down. The water is new, the bacteria colonization is weak and you can alter parameters if you put things this fast. IMO a good skimmer will be your first item to purchase.

What do I put the Carbon in??

The poor quality carbons can havephosphates, so becarefull about it. You can test it if you want : just put 3 table spoons of a. carbon in a gallon of pure water, wait for like 20 min. Than test and see the result. No joke with the phosphates

    Tap Water Chlorine

Addition to your list fshhub, I think silicates (something like SiO2) is an important nutrition for algea. I think the safest thing will be to use a RO system. By the way the organic concentration is an other bad thing.
