I just upgraded my tank. I bought an icecap 430 with 2 24" VHO's. I used my existing perfecto hood. So far it has been a week. the hood originally had 40 watts, now it has 150. There have been no heating issues yet. I love it. Good luck with your new lights.

I have not added any new rocks in a while, but I just found a new freeloader. I think I just found a see slug. It appears to have a hard shell, but it is not. It is darker in color, but not black. The shell(?) has coraline on it. It does look like a snail without the shell. thanks.

As far as I can tell, it is white. It definiately looked like it had legs of some sort. I thought I saw pinchers of some sort too. It is very light sensitive. It looks to be about as thick as a pencil. I thought bristle worms were very thin.

I have a 404 on my 54 corner too. I use a powerhead to circulate the water, and a bakpak 2r. My tank has been doing great. I would recommend putting fluff in 1 or 2 on the chambers tho. My water is crytal clear ever since I did that.

I know this topic has been posted before but, I just added some more live rok this weekend. I have a couple new visitors, but I just found what I think is a bristle worm. What do they do, and should I be concerned?

Actually the nitrates stayed constant. I am pretty sure it had to do with the new fish. I added a star and an angel at the same time. I think the system could not handle it for what ever reason. After 2 days, the nitrates went down. I will probably do a water change this weekend.

Well, the nitrites are going down. I removed the Phosphate sponge, and added carbon. The nitrites are down. it is reading about .1. it was about .5. It is wierd. Oh well...

at my LFS. I just said I have red slime, and they had a couple different kinds.

I had the red hair algea. It was everywhere. It took about 2 days to start to cover everything. I used Red Slimer Remover. It worked great. In 1 day, most was gone. in 3 days, the tank was clean. My skimmer was very busy afterwards though.

my cleaner shrimp release young about every month and a half. My fish LOVE the fresh food. :-) I tried to capture and cultivate the young, but they have died every time. An LFS near me does this, but they only have these shrimp in the tank.

I have a type of calerpa. But it is turning white. It appear that the parts that are exposed to light are dying, while those in the shade are doing ok. What am I doing wrong?
