no need for the rocks either. put some filter pad before the macro algae, and that should be it. your other filter can run something like chemipure elite.

My stinkin enhim 200 HOB has the water going through the carbon sheet things before going through the media wth man? Is this ok?

carbon is a type of media. but honestly, i had great success with chemi pure elite as have other nano hobbyists.

ya im not really fond of these carbon sheet things....i do have a bunch of media left over from the two ac 30s. hmmm ill prob through that in there tomorrow! Well good night professor, time for me to hit the sack. I have to get up at 4am!!!
chemi-pure is like a higher grade u thinks? I put reg fluval carbon in my canister....maybe i should switch!

chemi pure elite contains a better quality carbon imo. it also contains some gfo to remove some phosphates

Finally my UPS man came by!
I did a lil test on the bulb in the right of the pic and its more of a spotlight bulb. I will be posting pics of them up and running on the tank later on....also this weekend im going to a big anniversary sale. So expect some new coral pics soon as well!

sry about the crappy pics. I dont think my camera really liked the color of the lights. I dont know if this lamp has enough spread! Wat about when i want to put a frag shelf in and stuff! The lamp instructions say they take time to color up and show there true color and such....but idk

ya thats wat i was thinkin! How am i gonna find a fixture for that though.....off to google i go!!!!! moonlights are good though, i just dont think the girly is gonna like that! lol
it is 20000k though so its supposed to be blue but uuuhhhh i know wat u mean.

you can hang it up higher to get more coverage in the tank. it should light it up fine if u raise it like 3" more. if not you can always do the 2 island lamp thing. how do you like the colors though? amazing isnt it

ya the pic dose it no good...the color is good and it really does have great shimmer. I think ill try it up on the shelf and see. Maybe a 2x4 under it or something idk...

k well i moved the tank over on the far side of the dresser and put the lamp up on the shelf and BAM.....lighting prob fixed ill post a new pic tomorrow! Now its moonlight time. good night all u sw folks out there!

I currently have a freshwater 5 gallon with a critter killin betta and when he kicks it thinking about a coral reef only tank. thanks for the modivation and I'm sure my wife will be thanking you too, not a good thanks either.....Lol......

Hey Dude looks really good. Why don't you tuck that Eheim Jagr heater lower behind the rocks so you don't see it as much - other than that nice tank buddy.

I know I know.....
I plan on getting zoos in this tank, the leds have plenty of par. I just dont know much about em so i hope they keep the zoos alive.
Al i actually did this just yesterday. More picss tonight when i get home from work!

o and i got the fuges up and going, i just need to find some sm lights and chaeto....
