got ya. where did u learn to build tanks like this. i consider myself a DIYer and would love to construct my next tank all by myself so i can customize the many different parts. can you refer me to reading materials or books i can look at to learn about this craft??

If you have any local reefers near you or LFS's that you could go to and look at their systems in person I would start there, and of course this forum
I learned quite a bit from my bro-in-law Justin that has been in the SW game for 4 or 5 years. We are both learning as we go with my tank as far as the sump/refuge part goes. You Tube is a great place to watch step by step instructions of just about anything from building a tank to fragging corals. If you google Durso Standpipes you'll get all the info you need on the style I built for my tank. Google "Bean Animal" also, it is the design Posiden used. Hope I helped. If you have any questions at all don't hestitate to ask here. An unasked question is the ONLY stupid question

It really does look nice. oh and something I learned over the last few weeks MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PUMP THAT DOESN'T KEEP DYING AND OR A GFI SWITCH THAT DOESN'T FREAK OUT!!!! Trust me...
Looks great. Show a progression picture! Keep up the good work.

mi thinx teh slepilg is wnorg.
Lets just say then only water movement I have going right now is my powerheads and noise under sand pump.
Plus crap everywhere...
Nevermind though. Looks good. Do you think the flex piping is better then the hard pvc or easier to work with...? Great job so far...Keep it up.
