if i understand correctly...over 3" they can %100 photosynthesis. no need to hand feed them.
keep them on rocks directly so they can latch on.
under a jets flow..not directly in it.
perfect stable water.
MH lights for them to feed off of.

Yes. I have
2 Sqaumosas that I have had close to 3 years. 1 is about 8", the other is about 10".
2 Croceas 1 I have hadf for about 3 years. It is about 5-6". The other is in the pic.
1 Derasa I have had about 5-6 months. This thing has doubled in size in that time. It is a bout 7-8".
1 Small Maxima about 2". Had for maybe 4 months.
Yes alot of people feed phytoplankton when under 3". I have never fed anything for them. Also never direct feed them but just add to water.
Croceas and Maximas like rockwork. Derasa, Squamosa, Gigas like the sand.
They can take a lot of flow just make sure thier mantle doesn't flap over.
Yes they like stable water and use lots of cal.
They do filter the water for food, but I would not consider them part of your filtration.
Here are some pics of the others.
