Seriously?  So tell me, what exactly is the usefullness of "stocking up" on a bunch of magazines if not for any other reason than a "knee jerk reaction" to this Sandy Hook incident?  People did the same thing after Aurora.  What could you possibly do with 20 magazines?  The military doesn't even issue that many to a soldier fighting over in Afghanistan.  Is he a Doomsday Prepper?  Believe me.  There's hundreds of people out there doing the same thing for the only purpose of making a fast buck.  Just like these idiots that got pepper sprayed fighting one another for the latest pair of Air Jordan's.  They didn't want the shoes to wear them.  They wanted to pay $250 for a pair of sneakers so they could sell them for $1000 on EBay.  Firearm ammo and accessories have become this year's "have to have" Christmas gift.  "Oh honey!  You found me that laser sight, night optics, and stock extender for my AR-15!  You shouldn't have!"
Because the were on sale. Three of us went in on the purchase. I don't need them. I have 15 various 20 and 30 round magazines. However I don't pass up good deals we didn't over pay. Our cost per magazine was less than 10 dollars. My wife has over 100 pairs of shoes. She doesn't need all of them. But if she sees a great deal on a pair she buys them. You state you have fired ars. If this is the case you know how muh of a pain in the ass it is to load a magazine when out shooting.

Oh please. I owned two AR's. Like I said, I used them strictly for hunting. I used to own around 5 or 6 5-round clips, and maybe 3 30-round clips. One for each gun and one extra. I had the things for probably 10 years, and never had to maintain any of them. I personally have better things to do with my money than by a bunch of magazines I may use one every 3 months, if that. Yea, it's a REAL pain reloading those magazines. All of maybe 5 minutes. Gave me an excuse to sit down, relax a little, a drink a beer. OOOOOOH! Wait a minute, we're not supposed to be drinking while shooting our weapons. That's not what a "responsible gun owner" should be doing....

I bought magazines for the express purpose of making money on them. Try to buy one right now. I wish I had bought a lot more. Should have bought a couple guns too from the looks of things. 1300.00 for standard AR's. I am going to triple my money on mine.
Now at least reef is honest enough to admit it. Bet you were in line for some of those Air Jordan's as well...

Why is it that when 911 happened, not once did i hear someone say we need to ban 747, airbusses, or high capacity aircraft need to be banned. you know why. because we went after who was was the fault. The terrorists, not the machine they used to do it with. And we are still hunting them to make sure it doesnt happen again. That what we need to do with this. We need to find these mental people before they commit crimes like this. Get them treatment, or at least keep them away from knifes, guns, cars trains planes, or any other weapons. Come on america. lets put the blame where it should be, with the people that commit the crimes not the tools they used to do it with

First of all, as an aircraft buff, the planes used were actually two Boeing 757's and two Boeing 767's, not a 747 or Airbus :)
Secondly, you all seem to forget that every time you make the "If assault rifles should be banned, then we should also ban cars/planes/pools/mcdonalds" argument, that each and every one of those things has a PRIMARY purpose. Planes, my good sir, are used to transport people and goods as a primary service. Same with cars. Pools are for swimming both recreationally and for sport. Fast food, although bad for you, has a primary purpose of nourishment. You get my point. All these other things you want to mock ban have a purpose other than killing.
Let's look at an assault rifle on the other hand. Please enlighten me as to its primary purpose. Last I checked, it was designed, engineered, and built, in order to KILL. Yes, I know that it can kill wild animals as well as humans, which gives it some legitimacy as a recreational device. Regardless, the whole existence of the thing is to end life, be it Bambi or yours.
I'm not saying that all AR's should be banned, but please, please, PLEASE stop this whole "If assault rifles should be banned, then we should also ban cars/planes/pools/mcdonalds" argument... it just makes you look unreasonable and stubborn.

What are the primary purposes of mcdonalds or swimming pools? Cars are a privilage not a right. Assualt riffles are designed to kill as well as to protect life. Lets not forget that the next time swat showes up to put down a bad guy with a gun in your neighborhood.

What gun isn't designed to kill? They have other uses but a bolt action 22 is lethal. My AR is specifically designed for target shooting. It has a longer and heavier barrel that what the military and police versions have and like all the other AR's that are available to the general public is isn't a machine gun. One shot each time you pull the trigger. Just like your Glock.

You hit the nail on the head. Next time a SWAT team shows up, I hoped they are armed to the brim with assault rifles! Because those SWAT guys know what they are doing last time I checked. It's the Adam Lanza, Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold's of the world who I don't want to end up with one.

I didn't say anything about that. All I said was don't compare guns to planes and cars. It's a stupid argument.

Its obvious your the one stubborn and unreasonable. You are nit picking what i said.. I think everyone knows what i am talking about. I think i said any high capacity aircraft. Does a 757 or 767 not fall under high capacity aircraft. I might have forgot to put in some coma and periods. You must have missed that.

In our country that is very true...HOWEVER I think in England, the police carry whistles. The reason being is that the guns are not so easy for the general public to get their hands on. That doesn't stop the bad guys, Jack the ripper came from that neck of the woods. A killer is a killer and will use whatever to kill with they can get a hold of. In our country that is a gun, and while we may be able to control the laws, and make it so the average person has no gun...the bad guy is already armed, and it's just too little too late for a law to stop it.

A Good reason for assault rifles is wild boar hunting there an invasive species but they have massive tusk and are extremely aggressive and believe me u gonna want a powerful semi auto weapon when they charge which FYI they do
See keep the guns and kill the boars

I can't imagine why you'd need such a reliable weapon to hunt or protect your livestock against one of these. They look so cute!

The guy was actually shooting the Doves that were crapping on his car and a stray BB took out the hog.
