nah...
you dont need to scuff the back of the tank.
just use some water and a rag ang make sure that you get the back nice and clean.
rustoloium will do fine.
spraypaint is not to pickey about the surface that you put it on.

im not sure which runs hotter because i have never used either(i use MH)
but i would go with which ever runs cooler for the tanks sake.

ill do exactly that....how many coats u think i should do?....and will that spraypaint melt acrylic?

well it took my about 4 coats to coat my 55g but with a 6g you probaly get away with 2 or 3
