You need to make sure the red mark isn't a cut...remember I said they can get infected, and if it is...you need to find the source of what could cut it immediately.
slime coating hanging off of it where???
You said it ate one silverside...right? so don't worry too much about the other one...i don't soak mine....

I think you may be disappointed...they are so easy to get attached to....I would hate to have to give mine up...you might want to think about that before you get attached.
Whoops little to late these are so cool! LOL I also decided to name him stevie (in honor is steve erwin) haha

Slime is mostly off the tail but there's some around it's body and on it. I will find out about the red tommorow. How would I get it to show me it's tummy?

doesn't it go up and down the glass?.....just watch it when it does

It only happened once and quickly but I'll try. I just thought that there might be some way to entice it up. Also can you tell me anything about it's sting?

Well thankfully I have not been stung...It can not kill you butu I am told it hurts

When the ray starts to get more ...at home...it will start to go up and down the sides a lot...just let it get use to its new home

this is the fleshy stuff all arond the ray. If you look closely or zoom in on its body and tail you can see it a little bit better.

I think I've decided to feed it two silverside peices every other day to keep it small. On the other days he can just pick up the mysis left over from my tang.

your supposed to feed them every other day to begin with so I am giving him what he suppose to have. I never like feeding things, such as my octopus, every other day even though its recommended. I felt too bad so i fed it daily.
I'm not going to be starving it at all, thats just stupid. I am giving it what I was told to in addition to the extra mysis im adding that it will pick up off the bottom. It also has the feeder shrimp to eat which I heard they often go after.
Im definatley not trying to starve it whatsoever, just giving it the recomended amount of food (and more) and not stuffing it so it grows to be huge.
I'm no expert on them obviously and if you still think thats not enough then thats a different story. feel free to tell me if im not feeding it properly
sorry for the confusion.
BTW I checked out crimzy's diary, thanks forthe heads up.

I feed mine every day....if it is going to grow...it's going to grow...you can't put a weight on someones head who is going to grow tall to keep them short!!!!
That mark looks like a puncture wound....MAKE SURE you have nothing sharp in there.
IDK about the peeling...maybe it's shedding...mine never did

Do you have a better pic of the bottom half of ray.....Can't tell whether it is girl or boy from those pics

it's not even close to done yet.
I can't get a better picture untill later tonight, I won't be home till then. But I'm sure it's a boy. It has little tab things between it's tail and it's back feet fins.
I think he was introduced into the tank with the wound but it doesn't really seem like there's much he could hurt himself on like that. Should I be worried or try to treat it?

He is much more active today and always scooting around the tank. He especially went crazy when I fed the tang and it put it's mouth right up to the waters edge. So I gave him a silverside too. Do you think it's possible to try to hand feed him?

I hand feed mine every morning
Just watch the wound.....don't do anything to it
Is he burying himself in the sand yet???
