And this is why Fox Business shouldn't be covering Science stories.

Light passing through an object precludes the possibility of it's energy being trapped in it.Otherwise it wouldn't "Pass through" because there would be no energy left to drive it. Read how the greenhouse effect works.
So you are saying that light from the sun that goes into our homes has no energy left and doesn't heat our homes?? That's ridiculous. Maybe it should be you doing the reading.

As I stated in response to this post visible light is not trapped by CO2, it passes through and it absorbed or reflected by objects it strikes. .

I didn't mean that it was trapped in the CO2. It is trapped in the atmosphere once it reflects back up.

Visible light passes through CO2. So when light comes from the sun, incoming infrared is being absorbed by CO2 instead of reaching the surface. Visible light passes through to the surface.
Prove it! :na-na:

Prove it!

Many chemical compounds present in Earth's atmosphere behave as 'greenhouse gases'. These are gases which allow direct sunlight (relative shortwave energy) to reach the Earth's surface unimpeded. As the shortwave energy (that in the visible and ultraviolet portion of the spectra) heats the surface, longer-wave (infrared) energy (heat) is reradiated to the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases absorb this energy, thereby allowing less heat to escape back to space, and 'trapping' it in the lower atmosphere.

But what would I know about light LOL! I still have people tracking me down to answer T5 questions.

Yes. That Visible Light
has energy that is reflected by the surface and trapped due to the greenhouse effect.
NO, Visible light that gets reflected will simply pass back though the CO2 JUST LIKE IT DID TO REACH THE SURFACE IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Visible light that is absorbed by a surface will warm it which causes it to radiate out to the atmosphere where it is absorbed by greenhouse gases, JUST LIKE THE INCOMING INFRARED FROM THE SUN.
