Girls today don't know how to cook. It's not something they learned from their mothers. Just like a lot of guys today don't know how to fix anything because their dads didn't teach them.
I cook in the relationship and I do an amazing job of it. The only thing that a female could possibly give me (that I'd want) is a child. Other than that, anything can easily be accomplished.

It was a stereotypical joke and a well placed one at that. :)
But honestly, it sounds like you need to be alone.

Me thinks Meowzer meant love starved!
Apparently as said in post 19...some people can also handle that on their own

You have no idea. I love being alone and being free to do whatever without answering to whomever...who doesn't want that???

I guess this is the stuff I "missed out on" when I married my H.S. sweetheart-the only girl I ever dated. I'll take being an old prude and enjoy the rest of my life being stuck with one person over the Melrose Place mentality and drama most young people approach romance and so-called relationships with. Yup, I'm whipped and wouldn't change a dang thing.

No offense, but I would have walked away from that mess as well. If I walked into a new relationship and all that drama was flying around, true or not, you would be headed for the door. Maybe that doesn't make me the most sensitive person, but IMO, it makes me a smarter one.
You're forgetting high school kids live off of drama. That is what they do...

BAHAHA I completely agree, I've long said (not on here) microwaves and cookie dough in a tub are a major cause of the degridation of our society. People don't learn how to cook anymore. They just pop it into the microwave or put the cookie dough on the sheet and fail to learn how to cook. And they lose that aspect of the culture. Food brings people together as a family the cooking, the eating and then the men sitting around in the living smoking cigars or pipe while the woman gossip in the kitchen while cleaning. Brings together families and friends. (I only joke about the last part) But guy time girl time, working together, enjoying things as a family are vital for our society... And I feel like we are losing some of that...

I did too, I only dated one girl, she was the one so I stuck with her... I don't regret it at all...

Why get married then?
I really don't know...I avoided all the advice to "not do it!" that I got...you live.. you learn...
I'm still young and new to it so I could drastically change my opinion after some time.... That should be a huge disclaimer to my advice I've given "I'm new to this!".
All I can say is that it's a good experience and I'll learn something from the journey.

I'm old enough to see that people aren't the same. I've never had a girlfriend who knew how to cook anything that didn't have easy instructions. My wife even asks me questions when she makes mac and cheese or tuna helper..... I wouldn't have known how to cook if I didn't have to learn myself from when my mom/dad used to leave me at home as a kid....
Maybe more parents should leave their kids home alone all day? :)

I was married for 34 years. I would have stayed with my husband but he got into drugs and wasted the family money..LONG story..
Anyway, I did the cooking for the family thing, when I went on vacation to visit his family for the family reunion and hubby would retire to the living room for a smoke with the men while all the women of the house chatted as we cleaned up. It seemed to never fail that as soon as the kitchen was cleared the men wanted something else to eat that was sweet, so a new round of clean up took place before bed. The arrangement SUCKED for everyone but the men of the house.
My X has since cleaned up his life and wants to get back together. Let me tell you, I have enjoyed my freedom and no longer want to cook for anyone. I spend my money on what I want, I watch what I want on TV whenever I want and I don’t want another or the same master ever again.
I know… that was then and this is now…Go back and look at the funny future videos they made..talking about the microwave oven..how it would free the misses from the kitchen chain…LOL, now the men complain because that’s the way young women cook….I say bravo young women. If a person wants a three coarse meal, either take me out to a restaurant or cook it yourself. The family is not going to fall apart because the kids eat from meals made in a microwave.

Thats how I learned. Sure, there were some nights where we threw it out and got a pizza, but I would say that at least twice a week we were eating something for dinner that my sister and I had made in the afternoon after school.
Now, as an adult, I'd probably be a chef if the hours didnt suck so bad.

I was only joking about the smoking. But quite frankly there is nothing wrong with willing operating in traditional rolls... (and I'm a way better cook than my wife) Hopefully she doens't read this...

My house is soooo easy going... there are no rules. We want stew, Greg cooks it. Roast Chicken. I cook it. Teriyaki shark. Greg. French Onion soup. Me.
I spent many adult years alone because I wanted it that way. Now I'm married to my best friend. I never have to answer to him or ask permission. I buy whatever I want... there's never a "discussion" about money. I guess marriage is easy if you pick the right one in the first place.
We have a lot of fun together.

EXACTLY....That is why you get married

My husband is not a good cook., but he makes up for it in other ways, he helps clean up, and really helps a lot with the fish tanks
and I am ALWAYS buying stuff. He never says a word...we both work....it's our money, and we both know the limitations of our lifestyles.....we DISCUSS things....not ask permission....we are partners....not boss or slave driver....we talk..not yell etc
that's what marriage is....IMO

Such common sense. It is amazing... Today I told my wiff if she got a ticket she's sit it out. (I'm only joking) But that was a fun conversation. (They'd just been pulled over for going 87 in a 70)

I meant "discussion" as in a negative conversation.
I was pissed when Greg got a speeding ticket.... he started with "You're gonna be pissed".

yep, thats what I call a partnership. Thats what I have. I was raised by a strong grandma. My hubby will start with...."don't get pissed...but....". As long as it isn't "I killed someone....stole from my company......had a relationship with someone" etc. Generally its because he showed up with a fish, live rock, a more expensive bourbon, bought concert tickets to take our son to a concert etc. Oh well, I pick my battles. Now I am trying to channel my strong grandma for my 17 year old who has crossed pathes with a controlling, a-hole of a male. Amazing that these guys are still being spawned/raised by other strong women, but its true. The are crazy psycho nut jobs that will get worse with age. So find what makes YOU happy. No control. Just trust and respect for the partnership that you need.

teriyaki shark????......um...hmmm ewww.
