Looks like my Sleeper Goby....

My girls have named her "Sandy" for good reason. She's a great fish to watch but be warned: anything you put in the sand will get a sand bath. I can't really do anything about it now as she's already in the DT and I'm not about to try and catch her. Plus my two girls would never allow me to take her out as she's their favorite fish so far. Getting a clam might be out of the question now. I had my GSP in the sand, but had to move it up as the sleeper was dumping sand on it and it wouldn't open up.
So next time I'll get a Diamond Goby. The good news is the Sleeper doesn't hide as much and swims all over the tank.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought this would be the case after watching its behavior in the LFS. The only thing in the sand is the long tentacle plate coral, which I have to blow off every once and a while anyways.
Lots of personality.

I agree, lots of personality.
Like every thing else, they have their pros and cons and you just have to see if the pros out weight the cons. I think they do. I'll just have to be more creative in placing my corals.

Tank had a bloom of copepods. they are everywhere on the rocks and the glass. Good stuff. Also the coraline is taking off. First couple of blotches on the back glass.

Well the sleeper died in QT because of bacterial infection. He was on his last day of treatment with maracyn 2 when he croaked.

I went and bought a coral beauty today though, and it seems to be doing well.

I hate it when that happens, especially when they are almost done with QT. However, I guess it's better that he died in QT and not in the DT. Good luck with your new additions.
I should have my MHs up next week!!!
I can't wait!!!

Enjoy.

Nice picture of your feather duster. What kind of clowns are those? I don't see any black stripes (next to the white).

They do have the black stripes, just very thin. Your tank is coming along wonderfully. Looking good. All of my LFS are horrible for corals. accept for one that is 2-3x the price they should be. Where do you get your corals? I will probably have to take a trip to the southeast valley this weekend to buy some new goodies. Any SPS at the places you shop?

Aquarium Arts is where you want to go. I told a guy from Scottsdale about this store, actually met him there to give him some free Cheato. He had never been and after seeing the store said it was the best in the valley. He would definitley use the gas to come back. And yes, they have LOTS of SPS. I was there today and wanted so badly to buy some, but my Nitrates are a little high, so I'm working on getting that down before I put anything else in my DT. Plus I need for my MH's to be running for at least 6 hours a day. Right now I'm at 3 hours. Aquarium Arts is on Baseline, just east of Dobson. You might have also heard of About the Reef, but don't waist your time. I took one look at their prices and headed for the door. If you go to Aquarium Arts on Saturday ask for Mark, he's helped me out a lot, just tell him Wendy sent you.
Since two of my Lyretail Anthias died they are going to see about placing a special order for me. I have to call them on Monday to see if they are in, I hope they are. My little female needs some friends. Please let me know what you think after you go. Don't forget to check out there 300 gallon reef tank, it's to the right after you walk through the doors. Of course it's not like you are going to miss it.
