Hey AZfishgal, your tank is coming along nice. I love the stand and canopy. Do you think if possible you can send me design or plan of the canopy to brstwv@verizon.net. thank you brstwv

Tank looks awsome
If you are planning to get a sailfin tang I would suggest looking into a Desjardin Tang (Red Sea Sailfin). It is pretty much the same fish but with a bit of a color morph. Very cool fish.

My husband does not have official plans, just a rough scetch. But I zapped you an email with his email address. He's happy to answer any questions you might have.

The only thing with that is the Red Sea Sailfin get a little larger and from what I understand is a little more aggressive. This is just from what I have read though. I was trying to go with the safest of the two.

i think a sailfin would be too big for a 125 because it is a very high fish and gets very big as you know. also they can be very very agressive.

It's my understanding that it's the Red Sea Sailfin that's very aggressive and is why I'm not getting one. The regular Sailfin should be fine. I know several people with one in their 125 with other tangs and they are all doing well. I watch all my fish though and if any of them shows signs of stress, for any reason I take action. I don't have the attitude of "oh, they are just fish", they are my pets and they get treated VERY well. But thanks for your concern.

Any time, just let me know when.
It's nice to have other reefers take a look at your tank. You all have a better appreciation for the work and all the critters in them and you don't say "I like your plants." Which is what a friend told me the other day.

Well, with all this good lighting I had to take some more pics. Keep in mind they actually look more blue in these pictures than in real life, BUT they are much better than my previous pictures. ENJOY!!

It will take a few posts.

Not a great picture of the fish/corals, but it shows a better picture of the stand and canopy, now that it's day time. (The MHs are NOT on in this picture.)

Dory is now in the DT!

I would love to add MH's to my 55 gal. I have a decent sized hood, but the 4x 4ft long T5's take up all the room!! Your MH's seem to take up most of the room in the hood - where are the T5's???

They are under the MHs right on top of the tank. They are only two double strip lights and when the MHs are on you don't even know they are up there, no shadow or anything. I chalk it up to being because the reflectors are so good.
I don't have them on when the MHs are on.

I agree.
I was waiting for my MHs to go up before buying anything else. Now my pocket book is in trouble.

Thanks, would you believe Dory has spent her entire day in one corner of the tank. She has 6' feet of swimming room and she's moved maybe 1' going up and down.
I know she'll venture out once she gets used to it though. At least she's not hiding under a rock.
