Isn't that the truth!

Looks like I won't be able to get my two DOA fish replaced by SWF. They are willing to give me a credit or refund, and if I get a credit it's just that, which means I would have to order more things to get my order to $79 to qualify for the free shipping.
I already did that the first time around, buying an extra hermit crab and shells. I don't need anything else and ordering more fish will be irresponsible IMO. So I will get the refund and go back to my trusting lfs and order through them.

Here is my lone survivor. I'm happy to report she is out of her hiding spot more often and she finally started to eat!
But when I tried to get a picture this is where she goes. Still very nervous when people come near the tank, but she's getting better.
I talked with my lfs and they are going to see about getting me a male and female anthias. I am to call back on Monday as that's when they will have the next shipment of fish. So cross your fingers my little Anthias will have some new tank mates soon.

When she first came she was a very pale pink, I thought for sure I was going to lose her. But I took 3 hours to acclimate her and now she has all her color back. Now that she's eating I'm hopeful she'll make it.

My Hippo Tang seems to have a crush on my Sleeper Goby. They are together all the time. Every now and then the Goby sends her a message saying to "back off" and she does, but then she comes back later. It's pretty fun to watch them.

I can't take credit for these pics. My husband took them.

The Wood he used was cherry on the outside and melamine on the inside. You can buy them in large sheets at a speciality woodworking store. Home Depot and Lowes usually does not carry hard woods. Trim is 3/4" cherry. The sump was made from my lfs.

Tank is awesome as always AZ!
Too bad about your DOA's. I live in Surprise which is usually the last stop of the day for UPS or FedEx. So online purchases are out for me until fall.
Hey AZ have you gone to the new Bass Pro Shop by the 202 and Dobson in Mesa? The restaurant in there has a 13,000 gallon Saltwater Aquarium. It has fake coral but a lot of awesome fish. Defiently worth the trip especially since it's close by for you.

Well, I've been to the Bass Pro Shop twice, and had lunch and then dinner (on another day) at that restaurant. So YEP, I've seen it. Very cool!

I'll check out that other lfs you talked about, Aqua Touch. First I've heard of it, thanks for the info.

OK, you could have warned me that they are a very odd store and that they are closed on Thursdays!!!! I drove 45 minutes all the way from the 202/60, walked up to the store, DOOR IS LOCKED!!!!!!
My day pretty much went down hill from there, won't give you the detailes, but I'm ready to go to bed and try it again.

On a good note, my Anthias is eating well and staying out of her little cave more and more. I'm just so blown away on how pretty she is.

I noticed they were closed on thursday as well. I'm going to swing by there this saturday. I also had a bad day. One of my new clowns randomly died in QT (2nd day) and the store won't give any guarantee even with reciept and water sample (done shopping here now considering I was a repeat customer). Water conditions were great. Did water changes on both tanks and the hose slipped out, got about 5 gallons in the carpet because I use a powerhead for water changes.

Good days and bad days I guess. The fish was eating this morning and everything.

I'm sorry for laughing, but it's nice to know I'm not alone. I usally have my 8 year old daughter help me with the water changes, but she was gone earlier this week, so I had to do it myself, not a problem. Well......I to use a powerhead to do a water changes and I was successful in getting the 15 gallons out of the tank, all I needed to do was put the new 15 gallons in the tank, right. I put the hose in the top of the canopy closed the door to hold the hose and decided if I hury and plug in the pump I should have time to quickly grab the hose just in case it decides to move. Well as soon as I plugged the pump in the hose shot out of the canopy onto my floor. In a quick move I crabbed the hose and put it in the canopy without realizing I was dumping water right on my T5 lights.
The good news, the floor is tile.
So sorry about your clown, that's a real bummer. You know...I got my clowns at the ***** on Stapley and Baseline. I know, I know.....but I still have them and they are very healthy. I noticed they got some new ones in the other day, so you might want to check it out if you are on this side of town at Aquarium Arts. It's just a few exits down.

Ooops, sorry about not telling you about the LFS being closed Thursday guys.
I never go there except for the weekends, I totally forgot about it being closed on Thursdays. Plus I just figured you would wait for the weekend to go. My bad!

That ***** on Stapely and Baseline is probably the best ***** in the Phoenix area, which isn't saying much.

Not to worry, I went again today and I was NOT disappointed!
Very nice store and I did picked me up a toadstool, only $14.99!
I also got three more emerald crabs and spent $60 on three fish for my freshwater tank. I think that's the first time I spent more money on freshwater than saltwater. And I looked at the big reef tank for a long time, BEAUTIFUL!!! Anyway, it was worth the drive, again.

As far as ***** goes, when I was there the other day it looked like they were redoing the saltwater tanks. Two display tanks were completely empty and their stock tanks looked a lot cleaner, but not much stock to speak of. It's either that or they are giving up on Saltwater, but I didn't see a big clearance sign or anything like that. I'll have to check back in a couple of weeks and see how they look.
This is my new addition!

The guy that helped me out was really great. I had my eye on a large toadstool that was like $59, but it was a giant! There were smaller ones, but they were only $10 cheaper, so I thought it just made sense to go for the larger one. He then showed me the discount frag tank, he said (the one I bought) was cheaper because it didn't have much of a stem, but it would in time and the head was the same size as the $49 ones. So I thought, well, it will have a stem in no time at all and to be honest, it looks bigger now that it's in my tank then it did when it was in the store. Plus, as you can see I have TWO heads, didn't see that when he bagged it up.
So I was pretty impressed that this guy could have very easily sold me the $59 one, but talked me down to the cheaper one, how's that for customer service.
