ditto. i have a membership to fitworks. Joined for 3 years, and it's $30 a month (or $7 a day without a membership). I'd say it's definately worth it!

I joined the local park district gym and paid $70 for 3 months, which I think is a very fair price! I actually prefer it over Bally’s or Lifetime because it’s never to crowded, it has nice equipment, no meatheads and there are still plenty of attractive women to flirt with. I started working out again in December of last year (after a 3 year brake) and was surprised to see positive results in 3-4 weeks. I think the key is to have a good plan and stick to it.

Im shure. If you would like i can run down my meals for you. I wake up and start eating at 5:30-6:00 am. last meal is 8pm about.
I think you should give everyone a break down of your work out and your meal program that you have created for yourself. Since non of us are right next to you to help. When i was in high school i never thought i would gain weight. But all of a sudden BAM look at the scale up 10lbs I was so excited i was jumping around. And at that time i was 135 and got my weight up to 155 in a year. I definetly agree whith everyone else about the gym thing. Its not that hard to get a membership and if you have a job its allways easyer. Remember if your allways doing the same old rutien your never going to grow. Every time you work out you should do at least one new lift, or a drop set, or some negetives, or so polimetrics (spelling), body weight lifts. There sooooo many things out there that you can do instead of the same old rutine.
Next thing im going to say is probibly going to take you by suprise NO MORE CARDIO. Your burning wayyyyyy to many calories running. You have a fast matabolism. CARDIO SHOULD BE THE DEVIL. Your going to de trim theres no need to do cardio till you hit your goal weight. Your basically eating just to be able to run or do what ever. So say your 6' you want to hit 205 MAX. so you bulk up till 205 then you cut down. thats exactly what im doing and thats what works for me and for 100's of other people. just some more insight.

Bally Fitness, nearly 3 years now. Equipment did make a big difference in my workouts. I had freeweights, a 4 station cable machine, treadmill and a bike at home, but didn't realize what I was missing 'til I hit a "real" gym. ($50 mo. for wife and myself) They will also do the RMR test and set up a meal plan w/grocery list as part of the membership. If you decide to join, let me know so I can give you my info....I'll get a credit for your membership.

My workouts have been like monday/wednesday/friday arms/chest/some back and then abs. Curling, benching, dead lifting, using those little hand grip thingys, etc.. I dunno the name of all the crap i've been doing.. but its usually a little over a hour that im doing those for (not including the abs which is a extra 11 minutes).
Then on tuesday/thursday/saturday I >was< running... but i've quit that and started walking.. and should I quit walking too? I loved running :p you have no idea... Then after the run i'd come home and do leg presses and uh.. backward leg presses? (again I dont know all the names of the exercises!).. then I would do squats (which suck by the way..) then i'd do my 11 minute ab workout. I plan on doing some different leg workouts today actually... even though my legs arent the area I wanna do much with because they are already like 100% muscle... but oh well!
The main things i'd like to work on are (in this order) arms/back/abs/chest...
My diet has been a lot of sandwiches like from su
ay and stuff.. i'll buy a foot long sub in the morning and eat half for breakfast and half for lunch then go home and have spaghetti or some dinner-type food.. maybe a can of tuna or a tin of oysters. Today I had two peanutbutter&jelly sandwiches (whole grain wheat bread), a orange, a banana, a can of pineapple pieces, couple handfulls of peanuts, some beef jerky, a half of a frozen (healthy) pizza and thats all I planned on eating for tonight. I only drink water and milk.. I was only drinking a glass of milk every other day... but now since I take that protein shake stuff after im done working out i've been mixing whole milk with it so i've been drinking milk every day.
Sunday I rest... and I actually eat pretty 'bad' on this day.. bad as in... all sorts of unhealthy stuff. This last Sunday I took this beautiful asian chick out to a Chinese Buffet with me.... and she somehow managed to eat 3 bowls of food where I could only eat 1 bowl... my stomach is so shrunken (no she wasnt fat at all!) (and I cant begin to explain how hot she is!).
Well if you actually felt like reading all that... tell me what you think I should do differently.
My weights max at 100 lbs for my barbell and my dumbells go to 25 lbs. Im not a super strong guy anyways so really I have a hard time working out much with those. Not every exercise is done with the 100 lbs on the barbell either.. I have a heck of a time doing some exercises because I think im so weak in like my back and triceps that it makes doing the exercises too hard with so much weight.
Also I do some mild physical labor for a living... it actually involves a lot of walking and pulling. I could argue that during a day I walk SEVERAL miles.. not all at one time though... lots of breaks in between.
Anyways.. gonna go workout now :)

speg are you doing arms/chest/some back and then abs every other day??? and the Cardio and legs every other day??? if you are its mor of a weight los total body keeping fit routine...
you should Iso lift if you want to bulk up... really tear your muscle and then let it repair for 3 to 4 days... you can do cardio every day...
day 1 cardio and chest
day 2 cardio, back and shoulders
day 3 legs and abs
day 4 cardio and arms
repeat and mix in a rest day here and there...

Good advice if hes trying to cut down but. With some with a high matabolism the NO cardio is allways in affect. expecially if you find your self not gaining weight.

ditto ru's advice.
What your doing now is just going to get rid of your fat, but not really bulk you up. You should give your body parts a good 3-4 day rest before tearing them up again, so doing arms/chest/back/and abs every other day won't really bulk you up, because your body doesn't have enough time in between to repair the damage.

Increase caloric intake... suppliments... heavier weight less reps... do cardio like 10 to 30 min everyday...

Yeah im not gaining a drop of weight... I think I mighta gained a lb.. but its hard to tell :p lol
I am cutting out the cardio period..
Imma lift like crazy and rip my muscles to shreds.. then once I get the desired mass imma start dieting hard and do cardio/lighter weights with tons of reps to look really sharp... does that sound good? Am I thinking too far ahead?
Should I maybe skip my wednesday arm workouts and only do them monday/friday?
I was also told that the only two muscles you can work out every day is calves and abs... should I not be working out abs every day?
The first day I did that 11 minute ab workout I felt sore in my stomach for a couple days after.. but now I do the whole workout and I dont feel one bit of soreness...

Like i said if your bulking this will not help you. I am liveing in his shoes. I have been there. All he will build very slowly is very very lean mass. He will burn off way to much muscle, and his body will not have time to catch up. I would recomend if you HAVE to do cardio i would be 1-10min of bike right before your work out just to get your hart rate up.

Im also not trying to look like the hulk.. I just want to be a lil bigger... not monsterous.

Thats what im talking about dont worry about cutting down. Your matabolism will do that for you. no abs every day i would do mon-abs tue-calves wed-abs.....exc. as long as your strickt on your diet then you wont have to cut down too much. Right now you want bulk.

I think you under estimate your matabolism. Go big or go home man. thats it....You have a job just like i do. I have a 50 hour a week job. I have to make a weeks worth of food on SUN. and make my eeg whites every night.

hmm.. ok ok.. so eat whenever im hungry.... Actually when I got home today I worked out and like kept wanting to eat stuff.... so I did.. and like i'd just go right to the bathroom pretty much... went 4 times.. thats gotta be a record for me :p (tmi? I bet it is!)
So..... Since im such a wuss... 100 lbs is like a nightmare for me to bench right now.. and I blame my undevoloped tricepts/back muscles because my bis are huge... anyways... 100 is like a lot of weight for me to bench.. so is that ok to use for now as my strength workout? I'd probably be lying if i said I could get 100 lbs up any more times than like 5 :p
I did squats today with 100 lbs and I could only do like 5 reps in 3 sets.. and that last set I almost fell over :p
Allllso... I was doing lots of arm workouts yesterday.. I tried to work like forearms/tris/bis/back/chest... and today the only thing thats even the slighest bit sore is my tris.. because the other areas arent sore does that mean I really didnt do anything to those areas? Should I be using more weight on them? I was straining to do what I did with the weights i have :p

Dude, find out how many calories you burn standing still so you have a reference point. DO THE RMR!
Matty is right. Your muscles are going into catabolic state. You want to stay anabolic. Reduce cardio. Spread your meals out and snack on high nitrogen veg/fruits in between. Did you start a log yet? Do you know exactly how many calories you are taking in? You will be amazed at how many calories you need just to stay even, esp. with your workout regimen.
