Bodybuilding advice - please

Well from what I was reading from a couple different bodybuilding sites is that you want 1-1.5 grams of protein per POUND of body weight... so i'd need 165g of protein a day according to that (at least). It also said that you want like 2.5 - 3.5 grams of carbs per day... so roughly 500 carbs a day for my weight <-- thats the hard part!
If you think that info is wrong.. then i'll gladly do something different... because eating all i've eaten today has made me so friggin miserable.. and i've gained like 2-3 lbs today.. and I weighed myself AFTER I had to sit on the toilet for several minutes :p (tmi?) :hilarious

speggy, get some rice cakes (eeeewww!!!), and eat chicken and rice for dinner... you can add teriyaki sauce and make a chinese dish, or just have chicken and rice, but that's a dinner filled with protein and carbs, and no fat. Great dish!!!

Rice cakes.. gross.... man.... You dont know how nasty healthy food is until you are forced into eating it! :p I never knew this before.... but cottage cheese is so friggin disgusting... but I eat it anyways.

what??? cottage cheese is awesome!!! and the cinnamon or chocolate rice cakes aren't that bad. Also they have white cheddar ones that taste like white cheddar popcorn

ok, i know it's a little late to be chiming in here about that one website, bodybuildingforyou.com, but i did go there and check out their info on supplements, most of which was pretty off. i work at GNC and here a ton of feedback from people actually doing the workouts with the products, REAL people, not bodybuilders, who give us a lot of contradicting feedback about certain supplements.
i've been told by MANY people that it's 1-1.5 grams of protein per POUND of body weight, though i've also heard that you should take in one gram of protein per pound of your DESIRED weight.
there are plenty of supplements out there that do a good job, if you are willing to take them. some people aren't, some are.
but no matter if you are big into supplements or not you MUST take a multiple vitamin. your body will only produce more muscle if it's nutrients are in balance. a good multi is not centrum, or one-a-day, or anything else you get from walmart, cvs, or walgreens, or the like. you need a vitamin made from natural ingredients. i wrote out a bunch of info before on a thread....i'm sure if you do a search you could bring it up, the thread had a title something to do with 'does it bother you', or something...

I still havent gained any weight yet.. hasnt been long since i've been eating like a pig though =c)
Everybody is kinda making fun of me for how im eating.. but screw them! :happyfish

vitamins are a good thing if you're not eating a balanced diet. If you're eating all 5 food groups, you really don't need vitamins, but 9/10 people don't eat a balanced diet.
if you're unhappy eating foods you don't like, don't eat them. You can find the same nutritional contents in other foods you like.

Screw them you dont need them. And dont worry about the 20min dumps man. Its the protein in your diet. I know whey protein speeds up your system so i would say thats not iregular. So how did your meals go today. And i would stop wheying yourself. Your trippen over it. You know that good ole saying about watching water boil right samething here. I would whey in only once a week in the mourning. And write it down and keep track. I just found my old book i had it was kind of funny. So how was the diet today

I actually skipped my protein shake this morning because I was too tired to get up early enough =c( shame on me.
I got up, had milk and cereal. Then I was like already hungry again a hour later at work so I had one of my PB&Js :p Then later I had a chicken

and a banana, then I had the other PB&J and another banana (they were going bad so I had to eat them!) then I got home and had another chicken

[hr]
and some wheat spaghetti.. then I went to hooters with a girl-friend and had a chicken

[hr]
sandwich :p yes yes... a lot of chicken... I wasnt gonna eat both chicken breasts but I am a friggin insanely good cook and I couldnt resist eatin it :(
My poor girl-friend ended up having a grouper sandwich and she got so horribly sick... I told her to call me when she got home because I was worried about her.. and she says "I made it home, im going bye" then hung up on me :p poor girl.

There was actually some other stuff in there I was eating too... some tomatos that I found sliced up when I got home... a bowl of french fries at hooters.... a pickle... just some odd stuff here and there :)

hMMM one thing i would try to stear clear of the deep fried stuff. Another thing is the penut butter. That mat be your bathroom trouble right there. Try Tuna Sandwitch instead of the second PB@J.
That sucks about your g/F. I have to admit i have never been to imprssed with there food. WEll and around here theres not much hotter in the hotters no what i mean. So its a loose loose situation for me.

Your young dont worry about it. You should experence life before you settle down. Nuthing wrong with a "girl friend" but sometimes its good to know when to give in

This is why im not dating anybody... because im experiencing life! I have never gotten the chance to do that before... and it feels soooooo great. Just the other night I went out to a bar to watch the UFC there live with a couple friends.. and I know it doesnt seem like a big deal.. but its something i've never been able to do before without feeling weird.. I have never been allowed to hang around chicks because a girlfriend would always be there to get upset.. Im havin a good time. I just kinda wish I would gain some weight ;) lol
Today my meals were:
Breakfast1 6:30 - Shredded wheat with 2% milk in da bowl.
Breakfast2 8:10 - (already hungry) PB&J on whole wheat bread with a cup of mixed fruit.
Lunch1 11:00 - Tuna on whole wheat bread and a cup of fruit
Lunch2 1:00 - Same as Lunch1
Dinner 4:00 - A whole wheat soft taco shell with 5 egg whites inside (it was gross) and another cup of fruit and a handfull of peanuts.
I had a almond joy craving so I had to have one... then another handfull of peanuts.
----Then I did a somewhat short workout on legs and abs and had my protein shake.
Today I didnt pack enough food at all. I had no idea I was gonna have the work I had today or I woulda brought more food and spaced my meals out better. I am also running out of food but im kinda on the lazy side at the moment... I need to go out and get more and hopefully I can bring myself to it :p
Im having a horrible time trying to get the right amount of carbs in me.. even with like eating 6 slices of bread, shredded wheat, all that fruit, almond joy, and the taco all that really comes to is like 250-300 or so carbs. According to what i've been reading I need 500ish! I also skipped a meal today.. but still I couldnt have gotten 200 carbs out of one meal... I think I may need to increase what im eating for each meal too.... advice?

I have been lifting 5 days a week for 2 months now and i am gaining alot of muscle. On seperate days i work out my arms, legs, chest, back, just like you do. I also drink a big protein shake i got from GNC after everywork out. In the morning i eat 2-3 eggs also. I dont know what to tell you!!! i do what you do and im gaining weight. But yeah, if you work out your arms one day, dont work em for another 3 days atleast. I do reps of ten, then add 5 lbs, then do another 10 reps, then add 5 lbs and so on. I do this until i am shaking and can barely hold my water bottle in my hand.
I heard it is key to let your muscles rest after working them hard and make sure you lift until it is physically impossible to lift anymore.
Oh yeah, for all of you that drink protein shakes, do they make your urine neon yellow/green. They do that to me and it kinda freaks me out.
