My question is, how can the State of Florida sue this girl because of these lies? Are they trying to hit her up for the search costs the state incured? As for the court costs, she was found not guilty for the murder charge, which is why the court costs were so expensive.
The four lies resulted in law enforcement wasting nearly 6 months "searching" for a child that the mother told them was alive, since Caylee was not found dead until several months later. The lies perpetuated the belief that the child was living and needed to be searched for, which was not true, as the child died June 08. In the defense's court case the story was that the death resulted from an accident, which the mother covered up.
So, she is responsible for law enforcement wasting time and money searching for child, that the mother knew she was dead, and knew where her remains were located.
Since this case has become what it is, and the mother got away with murder, and everyone knows that, then the system wants retribution. If she makes movie/book deals, etc., then the desire is--not to allow her to profit from murder.
