So is the bike in your pic on the kid pics thread yours or your husbands?
haha, that's mine.
But I frequent a bike board where the guys are always talking about how girls are all into their bikes.

I guess it works both ways though. I also get a lot of attention when I'm on it, just being a girl and all.

Yeah, I can see how guys would like to brag about that....hehe. And yup, it does work both ways. When I was a teenager I dated a girl who rode and it was definitely something special.

i always find that, me personally anyways, doing the things you haven't done since you were a kid are always a big hit! go fly a kite, have a snowball fight (obviously in winter) or get some cheap squirt guns and have a water battle. think back to when you were a kid and what some of your favorite memories are. chances are, she has the same memories and who doesn't love revisiting their favorite memories??? and it may be something as simple as a water battle, but it'll be something she'll always remember...

whatever you do, do something different than a "normal" date it will be remembered, usually memories like that are good and its always good to start off well.

So tonight she's coming over to watch one of her kung fu flicks (she's very much into them, which definitely works for me
)... and to keep from being nervous (I get that way sometimes) I'm here posting.

since shes into kung fu see if maybe you can go to a lesson of some sort together, that could be fun(ny)!
There's a cool idea. I actually practice contemporary wushu (modern kung fu) and we have "buddy days" where we can bring in a friend to check out the class.

Really well, thanks.
We've also spent all day together today, first put together stuff for a picnic and went out on the Susquehanna river for a canoe ride, stopped at one of the islands and had our picnic, then after rowing back to City Island we walked around The Burg, then took the top off my Jeep and drove around the mountains here (this was her idea and it was lots of fun), and right now she's at her place "freshening up" (and I'm here doing the same, with a quick peek on swf.com
) before we go out for dinner, etc. She said how much she's enjoyed the day and since she'll be going to Boston for work this coming week she's all mine this weekend....heh. So, I'd say things are going "swimmingly".

So Monday (when I'm back and work goofing off) I'll put together an awesome list with everyones ideas so anyone can keep and use them for their own date ideas... I know I'll sure be using them.

Sounds like a perfect weekend! The only bad part about taking her to many romantic places is that men normally forget about all that once they have the woman hooked. That's what kills the most relationship. You doing this the second time around, I'm sure you've learned your lesson :)

I try pretty hard not to forget about all that, gotta have fun in life and a lot of these things sure are fun, but it definitely helps to have a reminder now and again.

Has your son met her? Does he like her? Better yet, does she like him?
Your our new reality show, lol

definetly i think that the sweetest thing my husband does is buy me flowers because its a tuesday or something silly. its great that after 5 years he still tries to be romantic.
also if she's real active and enjoys the kung fu class, try rock climbing (safely) of course. and for great restaurants look at zagat for your area. my husband found a great local restaurant that was kinda quiet but so romantic with a piano player very low lighting and very decent priced food.

Does she own any Tube Tops? If so you could take her to a NASCAR race.
Seriously, Pack up a picnic and find a nice park with some nature trials and just walk and talk. That is very low keyed and a nice time.

Depends on the age of kids... I guess I just don't think kids should be involved with the beginning of dating. What if daddy brings home every single girl friend? What kind of an image does that leave to the kids? OK I'm getting off my soap box now. Just my personal beliefs.
