What does CB mean? Captive Breed?
Lisa- Prince William, LOL I love it! Very happy with the new additions, stilltrying to get a decent picture of the new zoas.
Celac- I hope 'they' get back to you soon. Is this an internet order from a small place? IME they sometimes don't bill you until the last minute, even sometimes same day as shipping. I hope you get your order this week, the waiting is tough. Gotcha on the fuge. I just stuck some chaeto in my main tank for now and removed the filter pads from my filter box. I run bagged carbon 24-48 hours per week and have the bio-wheel going. Some day I will get some mud or rubble rock and stick the macro in the box with a clip on light.

Well they must have quite the selection because I don't see half of what you listed too often when surfing SW sites.

What do you girls think about this set-up....15 gallon High- 20x10x18. Too tight? Basically the foot print of a 10 gallon with 6 more inches in height.

Well, I am not a girl, but...
What is the settup for?
Also, I haven't found too much literature on the pederson's shrimp, I have only seen info on them at the drs place, but they are sooooooooo beautiful (lordy, it took me 5 tries to spell that!)!!!!!!

Oopsy, we might have to modify our Saltwater Sorority Sisters title then.

The P-shrimp do look neat. I desperatly need a good invert reference, wish I could help.
As for the tank I am thinking of putting my PC lighting on it and slapping up another tank for my office. However, I just e-mailed the WWM crew and Salty Dog advised against halides on that size tank for zoos, says my lights are fine and halides may bleach them.

I know, I know. But did you see the color change in the picture earlier in this post? I hate to buy gorgeous zoos and have them fade to blah under my lights....its a crapshoot because I never know which will fade until they are in my tank.
Have you tried Googling the Pederson's shrimp?

I have tried before ( A couple months ago), but I just tried again, and still not a lot of info... Oooooh well!
How many WPG, and wat type of lighting did the place you buy them from have them under?, also, how far from the lights were they?

Both local and on-line vendors keep them under halides, mine are under 5 watts per gallon of PC. I guess the difference is the tank size, retailers have large holding tanks not nanos.
I will try a little search on the shrimp. Hope I can find something. :cheer:

Easily distinguished by their long rostrums, serrated above and below. These are very common, but easily overlooked tropical and temperate rock-dwelling shrimps. Most are quite small, and many are semi-transparent. To add to their encryption, these shrimps are able to alter their color and markings to match their oft-commensal hosts, mainly anemones and sea cucumbers.

With plenty of cover and conscientious feeding, cleaner shrimp can be kept more than one to a tank; though all shrimps identified as cleaners will consume one another to a degree, given a lack of alternate food or cover. Of the five species in three families of cleaner shrimp most often available to aquarists (there are others) (Periclimenes {aka Pedersons}, Lysmata, and a Stenopus; all with long white antennae); the only ones I’d personally try in more than a "pair" (best as a male and female) are L. amboinensis and L. grabhami in a 75 gallon system.
In my opinion, the small Periclimenes are best left in the sea due to their strong association with hard-to-keep anemones. Should you not be dissuaded, do study up and arrange a biotopic presentation with these shrimp... along with their symbiont anemones.

Hmmmmmmm.... I have also found sites that say that they do not need their host, oooooh, I do hope that it is okay..... and also, all pictures I have seen of them, they are on the rock, not on anenomes.

I copied those from WWM. I have read they shouldn't be with out an anemone in the past but I think with the proper cover and protection from predators they should do just fine in your system. Once again there seem to be differing opinions.

sings...Why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends...
Yeah, well, I shouldn't have anything in their that will bother it, and if it does get bothered, it has PLENTY of cover. I need to change the water in my DIYLR container! I want to get those rocks in SOON! But I will be patient, maybe that will be my christmas present to myself, getting those rocks in! I love aquascaping!

Hey fishmamma!
Well, I know you have helped me figure out ideas for the IOTM's in the past, so what do you think the next one should be about?
