Flower's Sump/Fuge Build

Isn't Fed X almost double the rates of UPS? It cost $150.00 to ship UPS, you should wait on them to caugh up the money...Personally I think they should not only pay the $800.00 for what it was insured for, but refund the original shopping charges as well.
If they don't pay out by January 1st I can pay the shipping then.
Edit:
I just Googled the rates...UPS and Fed X cost the same...USPS however is way cheaper. I just had a package delivered late by USPS and they paid my money back back right then and there...maybe check on the postal service and give them our business.

Yeah,.....I get a lot thru usps....and send a lot thru them.....they are pretty competitive..and I rarely have an issue with damages

I wouldn't ship anything thing of this nature through USPS......I did do a little price shopping, and the price is up there....It's not that the sump is heavy, where you tie up a lot of money is the oversize box on the item. I'm guessing the estimated weight is roughly 40lbs....(pushing it, but!!!!!) when you sit and put in the box dimensions, the actual billable shipping weight is 127lbs......I'm looking at $146.00 UPS, and $137.00 from FedEx....Again these figures are using their calculators, but could be a tad more....

Sorry for the additional post.....Either carrier is going to charge for oversize.....There is NO WAY around that issue!!!!!

Hi Flower. Looks like you might get your fuge today, just checked FED EX site and on truck for delivery.

I have a doctors appointment. I have to leave here pretty quick, I hope it won't get here before I get back I want to see it come up the drive and get a picture if I can.
Shawn, have you checked and bothered the UPS claims people again? I mean 5 to 7 days are long gone, I still have the broken items and all the packing, hey never picked it up.

It made it! All in one beautiful piece! Slice, you rock, you beat the gorillas, the box looked beat up a little but all was well inside.

Atticus was barking like crazy so I got up.... and this is exactly what I saw. You can see the box was a little rough looking

LOL..I could just see the logo on the side

And the moment....My Mother snapped the pic..it's a little blurry.. Inside box in perfect shape!

First peek

Here it is..In my house in one unbroken beautiful piece

Finally ..It's still frosty from the cold outside.

I messed up....
The holes are not big enough…I measured the white part that screws into the black..but the black part won’t fit in the hole. I have a friend with a drill and a gadget to make holes…the holes are 1 1/2 and should be 2 inches…can it be fixed? This is a picture of what I measured to tell you what sze to make the holes. The picture is blurry but you can see the measure marks. I went outside and mesured the original fuge, which I should have one the fist time..2 inches..I could kick myself.

What your friend is going to have to do is get a 2" hole saw, but he will have to get a piece of wood of even a piece of the broken fuge/sump and drill two holes in it first. The bottom of the new 2" hole should almost be at the bottom of the 1-1/2" holes that I drilled. Once he makes the template he will have to clamp it to the fuge then use the template as a guide. If he tries to drill the holes with without the guide it wont cut good because the pilot drill in the middle has nothing to cut. Another way he can do it is take a strip of plexi, again from the broken fuge or sump and drill two pilot holes the same size as the pilot on the 2" hole saw, then double stick tape it from the back, this will guide the 2" hole saw. I will make a drawing later tonight. Maybe Shawn has a better idea. Not a big deal Flower.
